    Hi Guys,

I've received my bars today and stated the installation.
Quickly realized that the Truxedo would need to be hacked to fit. Can anyone confirm this and show me what they did ?

My best guess would be to cut the vertical plate that is part of the Truxedo rail at the Bars location so it will sit on the bed properly.

    Best regards,

This is a new one. I haven't seen this style rail for the covers yet. Can you take a pic from the sides of our upright brackets where the rail of your cover is against?

    @jowybyo

How similar was your cover? We didn't cut yours at all.

Pretty different. My Truxedo sat on the top of the bed rail, not to the inside of it.

Trying to figure out if this will work with bakflip mx4. Been looking for something that is modular. Love the design, and would like to run an rtt without having to remove my cover.

Send me photos of how the cover is attached to the truck and I can verify it for you.

    Hi Guys,

I ain't got a fix for that so i had to figure it out.
The rails for my Truxedo feature a "L" shape protruding aluminum part which align the cover and seal it's side. This portion had to be cut where the bars brackets are located. (yes, no longer allowed to change their location after that)

    IMG_20170609_203005.jpg IMG_20170610_121030.jpg

After that, to retain some sealing i applied strips of the foam tape provided by Mobtown offroad in the kit directly to the side of the bed and assembled the truxedo rails pushing onto that foam. I think it should seal deceltly...

All the pictures i took are on Google Drive: Mobtown Offroad - 2005-2017 Toyota Tacoma Bed Bars

You couldn't have just pushed it up tight against the brackets and let the seal form around them? Then you could just fill in any little remaining gap with weather stripping?

The seal was not working that way, pushing it down, the brackets raised the rails too much which leaved a gap of around 1/8"

The overall assembly is very strong, almost no movement.
My racks are from SportRack, I got them used but here is the model :
