    Its really not hard. Helps a lot to have another person to hold while you bolt, but I used a jack stand and that works if you're by yourself

    I'd prefer not to. I am sure you get it but when I am off work the last thing I want to do on a weekend is more work. Plus, most of the time when I come up there I am alone with two young kids (2-1/2 and 7 months) so trying to keep them in line and work is not really that easy.

    They fit with the tailgate down or up. Just need a strap to secure them in either orientation. You will be fine, we have constant pick ups in our shop with short beds picking up sliders.
