Just purchased a 2017 double cab short bed TRD Off Road after selling my Pro (hated the leather!). My first purchase is going to be sliders. Have it down to RCI and Mobtown. Had RCI sliders on my Pro which I was happy with but the Mobtown sliders do look beefier. Was thinking about going that route even though they were going to cost me several hundred more dollars shipped but they have about a 3 month wait and I can get the RCI sliders in about 3 weeks.

Don't think I can wait 3 months so going to get the RCI sliders unless I can find someone selling a set of Mobtown sliders with the kickout and fill plates.

    Anybody looking to sell?

Wait for it and get the Mobtown, The design wraps around the frame making it much stronger.

Thanks for all the responses. Was about ready to pull the trigger on the RCI sliders but now I'm debating on maybe the wait would be worth it. Hmmm....

You sold your pro because of the leather?

Hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Slide around when going off road as leather doesn’t grip nearly as well as cloth. Regularly having to condition the leather. And looks like craps after awhile as leather always cracks and shows wear even if you do condition it.

So yes, the main reason I sold it was due to the leather. Really don’t understand why they put it in off road rigs and sports cars. Pros are soo over priced also I was able to recoup most of what I invested in it and now I can build up my TRD OR the way I want it. My Pro was also a 2017 which you couldn’t get a sunroof and the JBL stereo. The standard stereo in my Pro was horrid. The JBl is much better. Don’t regret my decision one bit!

Bolt on sliders have been around for a lot longer than Mobbtown, and none have needed this frame design to protect/hi-lift off of. Just saying. Show me some failed bolt ons that were not a failure because of the install. I'd support local or fastest lead time. RCI sliders seems to do fine here in the Rocky Mountains..

This is true. You dont see too many bolt on slider failures and they can handle most anything but for the argument which is "beefier" the answer would be Mobtown

I like Mobtown and their sliders may have a stronger mount. I bought RCI for the lead time mostly. I had and have trips planned and wanted the insurance. Happy with them though. Fitment is great, bends and welds are perfect. Also like the beveled ends on the square tube.

I have slammed my rci sliders numerous times and they have never made contact with the cab and still holding up great.

If you are in So Cal near Long Beach, also check @Shmellmopwho ’s local work. Great price, including installation.

Sliders are sliders. Some vendors are better than others in terms of customer service / community giveback (@JLee of BAMF, the guys at Mobtown Off-road), but I’d honestly go with the vendor that’s closest to you to save on shipping because shipping prices and be high depending on where you live and where the vendor is located.
