Took a bit of time, but my rock sliders from Mobtown are now sitting in my garage. Any advice/recommendations on steps I should take before, during, or after the installation to avoid problems?

Do not skip steps on the instructions, order of operation is important.

Have a second person to help.

Other than that, follow directions and you will be fine.

Definitely get a second set of hands to help. The first bolts the instructions say to put in (can't remember the size) be careful and try and put them in as straight as possible. Mind didn't seem to fit perfectly and I ended up shearing off the nut that's tack-welded to the frame on the passenger side.....Also, the long handled bolts that fit up inside the frame, don't expect to be able to use the lock washers on those, the bolt on mine only stuck out of the frame far enough to get one or two turns on it....the lock washer wouldn't fit. (yours may fit perfectly, but mine didn't) Now that they're on though, i'm very pleased with how they look and perform.

We've since then added a longer bolt because of this issue.

I managed to get them installed this past weekend with the help of a friend. The instructions could use some improvement. Needed to partially uninstall and reinstall the driver-side because the instructions related to the box and the clamp were not clear.

Any other tips. Mine should be arriving soon. I know that there gonna be a conflict between the sliders and my pelfrey skids. I have all of them except the high clearance rear one in. I still have to reroute my exhaust but instructions for install require drilling the frame. I am gonna try and see if I can install the sliders and the skid together.

I can do a set in 75-90 minutes but I've also installed about 30 sets. They're very order of operation so don't skip a step. I tell most the average time is 3-4 hours when you take your time.

Ok, thank you. Like yourselves, I'm an engineer, and very detail focused, so I should be ok. I've already read through your installation instructions on the web site, so when the time arrives, I'll be ready to tackle the job.

@Mobtown Offroad I struggled making sense of all the steps on your instructions...Luckily I found a Victory 4x4 Install video with sliders similar enough to help me make sense of your instructions, but it might be nice if you did a video of one of the many you install to make the instructions more clear etc. Just an idea.

Set the slider on a milk crate and tilt and slide it under the truck.
Then jam a 2x4 between the slider and the milk crate and the slider is now pushed right up against the frame,
milk crate slides around easy on the wood paneling shown in the picture for lining up bolts with no effort.

On the front of the sliders (where the frame is boxed) don't forget to get the plastic clip out of the top of the frame.

I found the instructions made more sense when I had the slider sitting on the ground under the truck.

Driver side took me about 1-1/2 hrs (figuring out where the clip went into the top of the frame and then getting it out, then figuring out the front box assembly and getting the bolts through the top bracket, slowed me down).
Passenger side took only 30 minutes.

Joe must have his jigs set just right as they fit like a glove.

Same here. I haven't installed mine yet, due to lack of time, but the instructions are not very clear (for someone like me who is a visual learner). A install video would definitely be helpful.

We've been asked for a video less than 10 times for over 600 sets shipped so not to sound pessimistic about it but it is hard to justify making one. To do the video right and be extremely clear, along with editing it would easily take 8-10 hours to make one 2 hour video. Really hard to make even an extra 30 minutes appear during the day, let alone that amount of time.

If someone wants to make a video with step by step instructions and tools used by all means please do. We will talk about a possible compensation.

They're really not that bad to install, only slightly more challenging than every other slider out there due to our boxed portion and c clamp in the rear but I feel as though we spent a lot of extra effort in capturing that portion. Once you get all the accessories off the chassis and put them in place, everything kind of falls in place.

Anyone in MN need help with an install? I'll lend a hand and video it. Previously installed my sliders on my own with no issues.
