    I wonder how they got them on the wings I would think that they just strapped them onto the mechs for the external fuel tanks and bombs but wouldn't be able to drop them mid-flight if need be.

    Yeah i would imagine they used the mounting points for the bombs. Pretty simple mechanism, in fact there is an awesome article I'll go find that demonstrates how easy it was to mount other stuff to the bomb racks. I just think those barrels would break pretty easy from dropping. Doubt they would land to drop off beer...
