oops, forgot to answer the second part of your question - gain in power? well, not yet, but let me give the ecu some time to adjust. I'm doing mods based on my understanding of air flow and attempting to remove any restriction.

Ive had my elbow removal mod for months and never thought of this. now that i think about it, even with the removal, there still a little restriction. this velocity stack would def complete this mod. please keep us posted. Great job.

    update...initial impressions

mpg: so far its been a decrease, but mainly because I'm WOT just for the fun of it.

sound: WOT sounds great, especially above 3500 rpm. cruising it sounds louder than I remember, but I'm not so happy with that.

ass dyno: the good - WOT is improved for sure, eliminating a slight hesitation at around 3500 rpm. Much smoother and feels like it revs more effortlessly. The bad - while cruising need to stay in a lower gear longer than before, as if I lost some torque or velocity at low rpms. I'm not sure about this issue yet, I need more seat time before I give an accurate review.

overall: I'm not sure yet. need more time.

Just did this on my truck, at first i was like wtf is he talking about with the clips because you can get at most from inside the engine bay and then its easy. But then i found the ones that the supports for the fender flare are screwed into and shortly after i was throwing every kind of expletives at the engineer who thought up those damn things. First impressions of driving though is its definitely louder, and seems to be a bit more responsive I'll have to see after some more driving though.s

Damn did you say Blower. If my eyes are correct that prelude must of hauled some serious azz. Interesting because 90 percent would have turbocharged this car.

    I guess I'm a "little" late, but yep..thats a blower you see
and it does haul azzzz :D

I originally wanted the low and mid range power for autox, so the supercharger was the best option. but now I want more low, more mid, more high, MORE EVERYTHING!!! (aka boost addiction)

    exactly what I did

Is it louder even just cruising on the freeway? Mine is and I'm not happy with that, but maybe its just in my head?

its not worth dyno time to test imo, but I've thought about doing a few 0-60 vids and a stopwatch just to get a basic idea of whats going on. someone posted up a comparison using this video method of timing 0-60 and it seemed like a decent idea. I know its not perfect, but my bet is that it would be pretty damn close.

take a look at the this picture he posted, looks like it's closed off. There's a metal piece on it.

So a breather filter on that tube that goes to the resonator, and close off the sensor????

The computer doesnt need time to adjust. Computers on new cars are VERY fast, and adjust quite quickly.

Most vehicles today are equipped with "tuned" intakes. A tuned intake is a very precise way to deliver air into the cylinders, and uses the "bounce" back velocity to improve overall efficiency. That is why most intakes look like headers on newer cars (corolla has a really cool one). When the intake valve closes, the air comes to a sudden stop, and bounces back through the intake. The intake is designed so that the air returns into the cylinder, utilizing the energy that was created.

What you just did is change this. By changing the intake tube, you disturbed how the airflow enters the cylinders. Now, the overall flow of air is decreased and you are no longer utilizing the benifits of having a tuned intake.

You actually decreased the performance of your truck.

You may be tempted to feel like it's improved, but trust me, it's not. Your hicup around 3K is a good indication that air flow is no longer tuned.

    Just my 5cents

    Pretty much stock
your issues are coming from that sensor that is no longer measuring the air temp / flow. i've fab'd alot of intakes and some sensors even have to be in the same locations or else it affects performance negatively.
