    @ovrlndkull

    Thank you sir, I'm glad that you like it and had the opportunity to get a feel for it. Like we were talking yesterday, it surprised me how it sounded once installed (idle, putting around, highway, overtake, etc.). I can't remember if I had mentioned to you that I went into it with expectation that it was going to be loud as hell and possibly "droney" or "ricer" sounding. The end result was surprisingly underwhelming, but in a good way, I felt that it hit a legitimate "sweet spot" across the board. That being said, it was a relief to me since I haven't found, even to this day, any videos or know of anyone who has my setup to compare with. I really should take the time to video it, it would be a good opportunity to give other people more options if they decide to pursue something like that.

    Video never really does a great job actually allowing the tone to come across like it does in person. Sucks!!!!

    HA! This is very true, I could always convince (and by convince I mean kidnap and by kidnap I mean ask politely) my companies resident videographer. But yeah, video really wouldn’t do it any justice. I guess people will just have to....

    Talk to me about the bracket lift on a prerunner and those big wheels you have. What gain were you after with them?

    Probably want to look at you truck and reflect on what you are saying about exhaust on a Taco. Just because it isn't a mod that makes sense to you doesn't mean that many on here don't have or want modified exhaust.

    Maybe an issue if you are stopped idling for a long time and there is zero breeze but can't be any worse than being stopped with a slight tail wind and a stock exhaust.
    Non-issue for me 14,000 miles after cutting my exhaust but I dumped after the axle and the exhaust is pointed down.

    LOL! Look at it this way some people gain more appreciation for their truck as well as a “better” (to each their own) exhaust tone. Everyone has their own reason behind doing certain mods.

    Being a sarcastic ass about what people should and shouldn’t do to their trucks doesn’t provide any gain for anyone

    Here's my truck with the TRD exhaust, vibrant 2.5" resonator, and URD y-pipe. I'm driving on a beach so the leaf spring squeaks are about as loud as the exhaust haha.

    I’ve tried a Gibson single catback a dynomax catback and the long case dynomax super turbo muffler. Dynomax catback with ultra flow muffler had way to much drone during non freeway driving. The super turbo muffler (#17748) provided good seat of pants results with minimal drone and was actually pretty decent sounding (kinda deep). I ultimately settled on the Gibson catback because it has a decent performance tone and almost no inside drone. I would recommend just swapping the stock muffler to the super turbo 17748 or the muffler from the Gibson single kit. I don’t know that part # off the top of my head.

    I’m with you 100%. I like nice and quiet. If it’s not a V8 you really ought to keep it quiet.
    However I do toss around the idea of getting the TRD exhaust to gain some clearance for a traction bar I plan on installing. That or re-clock my stock muffler.
    The stock exhaust unfortunately doesn’t allow for a properly setup traction bar.
