Anyone have any mods that they have done with the cigarette lighter/power outlet. I never use mine and was wonder if others have gotten rid of it to add something else

It is a cool idea... but only 0.5 watts so not very powerful. I could see this being pretty handy in a pinch though.

I have one of those on mind, it is very cool, when you charge it, have some red color come out.

Got one a couple of days ago.
Really nice. They come with an adapter that snaps over the insulator. Without the adapter, they would just fall out of the Tacoma's socket.
With the adapter, they won't go in, but there are a couple of nubs on the adapter and after filing them down, it fit securely.

It glows a dim red when plugged in. Rotate the bezel to turn it on.
It's small, not a lot of light, but better than nothing... perfect for a passenger to read a map or something if you don't have map lights.

I read a lot of complaints that even with the adapter it's still hit or miss with accessory outlets from vehicle to vehicle.

Glad to hear it will eventually work in our Tacoma.

Of course. There's just no standardization from manufacturer to manufacturer.
Accessory plugs for phones and such fit because the ground is a pair of springs... but even then, I've had some that were really tight in some vehicles.

This thing is solid with no springs at all, so it is going to rely on a friction fit, and it won't be a "plug and play" with most vehicles.

    Look at build!
I got rid of one of my lower cig lighter outlets and put a voltage meter in place and hard wired a blue seas twin USB port in my center console
