I have been modified worn out shifters on XRU for several years. I have also done them for a few members here.

I buy old shifters and refurbish them. I remove the old worn out internal rubber bushings and replace them with a polyurethane epoxy. This will make the shifter very firm and will far outlast the stock shifter. In this process, I usually cut the height of the shifter down 1 ~ 1 1/2 inches.

This can be done with a stock oem shifter or a TRD short shifter. If you do it with a oem shifter, the combination works best with an URD SS attached. I ran one of these combination on my truck for a couple of years, before I put in a T56 Magnum transmission.

Today, I have a TRD SS for a 2WD. This one is stock height and the existing rubber bushings have been backfilled with polyurethane epoxy. This will shift much firmer than a stock TRD SS.

Price is $310 shipped + your old oem shifter. If you currently have a TRD SS and want an upgrade, then the price is $120 shipped + your TRD SS. I ship the shifters with a new white tip bushing.
