Doing a little boot shoot out for fun. Shock boot on one side and an inner tube on the other. Both about the same thickness of rubber and both stayed on for the test drive.

Nothing to see here. Took a gallon of ATF to get me home from Moab, ATF dripping off just about every part of the truck down wind.

FWIW, here is the info I have been able to gather on OEM racks:

    LC200:
    • Stroke: 6.22"
    • Length between ITREs: 29 7/8
    Tundra:
    • Stroke: 7.81
    • Turns lock to lock: 3.69
    • Length?
    4th gen 4Runner:
    • Stroke: 6.25"
    • Length: 28.5"
    • Turns: 3.06
    2nd Gen Tacoma:
    • Stroke: 6.7"
    • Turns: 3.63
    • Length?
    FJ:
    • Stroke: 5.67"
    • Turns: 2.81
    • Length?

Anyone have the taco or tundra lengths?

Do these suffer from the same 'Feedback' at the steering wheel the stock rack/pump combo does? Would a HOWE TC pump be needed if you went with this?
    @EatSleepTacos how's yours been?

I hardly noticed a difference from the stock rack if I'm being honest. Could also be that my truck was down for two months and I'd just forgotten how the thing drove beforehand. According to Harry the feedback is the pump, not the rack. I do know that a howe pump would be a great pairing with this rack, Travis has one.

Just wondering if I should do tundra rack or slide rack. I want to spend as little as possible but looks like my budget is going out the window.

I vote Tundra rack. You’ll be getting a fully rebuilt rack with new seals and such. Not sure how many miles you have on your current.

I also agree tundra rack. The fact you can’t boot the slide rack makes it a non starter for us non desert folks.

144845 Miles IIRC. No leaks or other issues (knock on wood)

Valid point, since it's a 'non-issue' o_O we won't get boots for that.

Im not sure what your setup is, but going wider, bigger tires will make you want to get the HOWE pump later down the road. That will be an additional cost on top of the slide rack.

With the tundra rack you’re done, free to start smashing and not have to worry.

Currently only running 255 33's, plan is to get 285s next go round, but considering 34s. I'll be regearing to 4.88 first.

As far as width, I'm stock width, no LT up front (yet). I have the JD 62" SUA setup in the back.

I’m only on 35s with the tundra rack and I would still very much benefit from the howe pump in my opinion. I noticed a marginal difference in ability to turn my tires while aired down, so my main benefit is just overall strength of the rack and hopefully less blowing out seals.

Picked up the Tundra rack with the new eccentric bushings. Can’t wait to get this installed. Thanks @Basikbiker good seeing you today. Sick rig BTW!
