Mods delete please

Noticed a noise while truck is running looking under the hood and the idler pulley closest to the alt has a weird movement and making a metal on metal sound took it in the tec said they checked 4 other trucks and this is normal for this truck anyone else noticed this issue

 

Yes but it should not move because it's mounted solid on the front of the engine not on a spring loaded tensioner

 

UPDATE Toyota just called as said the pully has been ordered that there rep said that it not normal so at least I get that fixed

 

Sure glad it took a rep to see this what has gotten into Toyota the mechanic who looked at it suggest it be replaced but the service mgr said no because every truck we looked at was doing it

 

No idea how to do that

 

So any one with the 3.5 check this pully and see if it's a bad batch of pullys

 

I thought this was going to be about something totally different.

Bad bearing in the idler pulley I'm sure just wanted to see if anyone else has this going on

 

The top one near the alt it's making noise and moves in and out like it's loose but it's tight well the bolt is anyway can move the pully with your hand while not running in and out away from the block not up and down

 

Reminds me of Lexy Panterra.

 

Now I could live with a shake like that
