Remove everything from the truck except for driver seat steering wheel and drive train.
Remove the bed cab and all the fenders, passenger seats.

Poop before you leave wherever you go

and finally only fill your tank 1 gal then drive to the next gas station and fill 1 gal again keeping your weight as light as possible

Light foot will get you a couple mpg, using only 94 octane race gas will get you another 2-3 mpg, getting the magnet that connects on your fuel line will get another 2-3 mpg, dumping everything out of the truck will get another mpg, and closing the windows and not using the airconditioner will get you another 2-3 mpg.
So, you should be gettting over 30mpg....
    Mwahahahahhahah!!!!!!
Actually around 20mpg overall is what you will get with the V-6.

A ScanGauge can help you develop your Light Foot Mod. It helped me increase my work commute mileage by several MPG (between modifying my driving style and helping me choose alternate routes).
