I feel your pain and agree with the others about selling the tires.

    A short story:

    I had a new 2007 Ford Ranger FX4
Off-road. These trucks came with the worst dealer tires ever, which were a Goodyear wrangler RT-S. These tires were terrible in all conditions, and I told myself I would get rid of them when they wore out.

    The catch:

Turns out those awful Wrangler RT-S’s had one thing going for them: they never showed any wear and lasted Forever. I had that truck 6 years and those terrible tires still looked new. Wish I had swapped ‘em out right away. Those tires are probably still on that truck today.

flipside. I’m in the same or similar boat as OP and I’ve read of the stock tires (at least the OR stockies) lasting to about 40k. Nothing special.

I’m keeping mine through next summer, after that I’ll probably pitch them regardless. But I’ll probably have 40k on it plus a not insignificant amount aired down in the woods wears them out more.

Great truck and my condolences on how you acquired it. I am sure you feel honored and closer to your friend everytime you drive it
