Mods just close threads now or what?

100% troll post - looking to escalate a situation. Zero useful information in your post. You joined and commented with the full intention of trolling, and that's it. How the mods allow *this* blatant shit - but delete / close genuine conversations is beyond me. THAT is what I'm looking for an answer to.

 

It’s usually pretty clear why someone gets banned, or a thread gets deleted. At least for me anyway.

Hang out. You’ve only been here a little over a year. Trust me this place has its highs and lows just like any site. It’ll grow on you. I’m not saying this site doesn’t have issues, as any site will. But I’ve never found this much help and info crammed into one place ever before.

 

Usually it’s “oh that one? Yeah….about time”

 

They don’t have to tell you why they closed a thread. Same for when you get banned.

But they almost always will tell you why if you ask them.

FWIW, I wake up daily expecting to be banned. That way, when it happens, it won’t be so “unexpected”.

Just know that my request is a little communication between moderators and members.
Obviously things (in this thread) got out of hand - by the handful of trolls that come in to do nothing but troll, derail and escalate. That's the internet.

But in either event...just throw it to me when you're ready.

Especially when users with under 150 posts start agreeing with the most idiotic parts of the thread.

I help moderate an 80,000 member Tacoma Facebook page. The page gets over 30 posts request an hour. We just quickly delete all the garbage. We all help moderate in our spare time so none of us have the time to respond to each member with an explanation. Delete and move on.
