While poking around in the area of the underdash fuse box came across a modular plug, looks just like a telephone line plug. Have no idea what this is for, everything seems to be working fine. Any ideas as this is bothering me that something may not be connected properly.
    thanks in advance.

Probably left over from a dealer installed security system that was removed before sale.

You're in Florida...I have heard that the Southeast Toyota distribution network (whatever it's called) does actually install alarms in every vehicle, and then if you don't buy it, they just pull the brain or switch box under the dash and leave the rest in place.

Yeah, the reason I suggested it may be an alarm is I have an 09 Taco at work that my boss bought brand new off the dealer's lot. It has the security system there. He didn't even know it was there, nothing was said and it's not hooked up to power, but the control box and socket for the "chip" is still under the dash.
