Mojave Rebuild and Random Projects Build Thread

Starting to get things done! All the stock suspension is removed and I cut the factory front cross bar out. Cam tab and upper gussets are arriving today. ADV glass getting picked up Saturday.

I also gussets my spindles but I don’t have pics on my phone, I will post those up later.

 

Some metal burning from last night. I was going to make these. Glad I didn’t, they were a pain in the ass as they are. Still need to do drivers side and cam tabs. Hoping I can do those Friday.

 

yea those tower gussetts suck ass! ive welded em up on a few trucks and every one fits like crap.... putting the bolts in from the cab side makes it a lil easier when u put your arms back on

 

That is seriously the best, yet most obvious advice I never thought of hahahaha!!!

 

Well it is time to reboot this build thread. A lot of stuff missing. I will try to summarize it all the best I can without being too wordy. I will be following up with a lot of pics too.

Front Dirt King LT has been on the truck since November. Despite a few hick ups at first the kit is installed and working perfectly. It handles very well with the out of the box valving provided by Don South Motorsports. Eager to get a full tune on the truck but so far so good. The front is so nice actually, that as expected it drove me to go ahead and replace the rear suspension. I am currently in the process of installing a DMZ Spring Under Axle kit right now.

In other news I also accepted a full time position with @CaliRaisedLed as their lead engineer and shop operations. Some of you may have seen they opened a full fab shop with a lot of amazing equipment. Having access to an 80 ton Amada CNC press brake, Arc Light Arcmax CNC plasma, Bend Dragon CNC tube notcher and JD2 CNC tube bender really changes a lot of things for this build. It also provides us with the tools and equipment to make some fun and awesome new parts for our trucks. My build will showcase a number of these fun new designs and products as I build them and have time to install them on my truck. Stay tuned because this build is about to get crazier hahaha.

Ya it was no fun. But that is really the only time I have had a major problem like that in the truck where I couldn’t drive home. So it’s not so bad I guess haha.

 

I look at it this way, if your truly using your equipment it will happen eventually. Most don't use them except in a mall parking lot lol.
