    So according to the NPS website, a permit is needed for Mojave National Preserve area. According to the tracks submitted by Tom, our expedition will end right at the preseve border. We wont actually ever enter the preserve at all, and if we do it will be for about 1 mile just to turn around. We will only be in the open desert area between barstow and the preserve. I dont see any reason for a permit for this trip. If we camp we can find a spot outside the preserve area but I doubt more than 7 trucks camp anyways so the campers will be fine either way. We can call to confirm but based on the information provided in here and online I still dont think a permit is needed.

    Hi I'm brand new to this because I am getting from a friend an 07 ac prerunner TRD! I would love to go if I get the truck from him by the 6th but were can I find dust lights? I have off-road before with my rav4 I used to have so I think I'm comfortable enought with off road to go. The truck looks stock but it is TRD.
