Haha yeah Lee is the man! Great pics. Nobody climbed the ladder. We were chillin there taking a break and the train snuck up on us and we hurried to get our vehicles out from underneath the tracks in fear of having any debris fall on them. And I didn't notice that but that's a pretty cool place to have your ashes at! It was a great trail and a very fun time!

Jealous for sure, wish I could get out there soon. Not gonna lie being that close to the train is a little scary in person.

Possibly going back in the middle of March for another weekend trip. You should go on that one if you're available!

your pics look awesome. really nice. so would you say this is a laid back trip? i dont want to spend 8 hours going 2 miles if you know what i mean.

Can you tell me what streets you would use for entry and exit if commuting from SD?

Maybe this would be a good run to test chas' new bilsteins.

Haha thanks dude. Lee (surfnmoto2) is great photographer. It was a really fun time. It's a pretty laid back trip. There's a little bit of everything on the trail. Small bit of rock crawling, whoops, flat high speed turns, tons of fun stuff. I totally hear ya. From the Colorado River in Laughlin on the east side to Afton Canyon road on the west side where we ended the trail it was 135 miles. We did 50 miles the first day in about 4.5 hours, second day did another 50 miles in 5-6 hours. And the last day we did the last 35 miles in about 3.5-4 hours. So it's pretty laid back. Did some good camping, shooting guns, and general hanging out / chillin. Good time.

The approximate location where you start on the east side by the Colorado River is 9831–9987 Aha Macav Pkwy
    Laughlin, NV 89029
    United States

Ending on the west side in Baker the approximate address is
    Afton Canyon Rd
    Fort Irwin, CA 92338
    United States

We used "The Mojave Road Guide" which I highly recommend getting. Huge help for navigating the trail.

We plan on doing another trip in The middle of March. Anyone and everyone is welcome :) It really is a good time.

yeah i would probably be down. i think the book with be vital because it seems like there are a lot of landmarks and that is fun to find that old stuff out there.

need to bring some guns if your gonna be that deep in the desert.

i just would not want to run into any problems at the midway point.

did you see a lot of other traffic out there?

Sweet then I'll be sure to hit you up during then. The book certainly helped a lot because there are a lot of roads that go off in other directions and stuff. And its cool because the book gives you tons of history about the trail and yes all the landmarks and cool old stuff.

Definitely bring guns. I brought 30-06, 12 gauge, and 9mm. Fun stuff.

About half way through I hit a ditch and popped the bead of my tire and had to do a trail fix. Only took about an hour. We bring sufficient tools and recovery gear for most situations. There was enough traffic out there to make you feel comfortable that you would be saved if you got stuck but not enough to make you feel like you weren't exploring off the beaten path. So it was pretty cool!

Hahaha nice man! Cool pic dude. There were some spots where you could maybe make it through in 2wd but it was nice having 4wd. There were definitely some soft spots!
