Not that this is what to expect all the time, but right after I bought it I ran up north hill on US15 to Gates of the Mountains and back home. 80mph, not babying it.

That's 2 mpg better than my third gen. In a 6.2l. That's crazy.

Thats a sexy rig right there. I am so set on a 6.2, the only reason I wont get one is if i can hold out until Feb and toyota actually does announce a new tundra..or if i make the jump to a duramax or for some reason a f150. Lol as you can tell I am still back and fourth.

But seriously that 6.2 is insane, for the power increase and only a EPa rated 1mpg worse then the 5.3 its a no brainer.

It is fast too. Whoo boy. I drove the new twin turbo F150- it's nice too but we liked the Siverado a little better.

Plus I'm old fashioned, I like the growl of a V8 over the whine of turbos

    Lol what thread is this?

I have been researching and a tune apparently really unleashes the 6.2 and "fixes" the awkward shifts, if any, that 8 speed has.

I forget which one, but some idiot turd gen newb was saying I was full of crap that my 14 silverado was getting 20-23 consistently and said even though I owned it his fuelly.com numbers proved me wrong. I posted pics proving him wrong, he shut up quick but then ran his mouth about something else. I absolutely despise most new members in the 3rd gen section, makes me want my 2nd gen back just to be part of the cool not "special" kids.

Lol jeez. I like the 3rd gens, but for my money, i just would prefer a fullsize with the big power and decent mileage. Some people just hate to see something that might be better

Contrary to what many have said here. My dad had a vortec max 05 silverado which he still has, never a SINGLE issue and it was a farm truck so got some use, only thing was a bit of rust around the wheel wells in back which he fixed (guess its common). My buddies at work are die hard chevy guys too and never any issues. The ram and ford guys on the other hand at work...

The close minded stupidity, ignorance is quite common place in the 3rd gen section, those same people will then ask you how they can make 33s fit, etc.

I think the new gmc/chevys will be great rigs.

Agreed. Hell my 3rd gen has had more issues than my silverado did new. The blissful ignorance again of some.

True, but a lot better now.
