How far apart were you guys? I figure if I'm just trying to talk to everyone on the trail we're usually not strung out too far apart....unless we have another incident like in June  &

    get the midland 75...works great

i have it hardwired into my truck with a "lil wil" magnetic mount antenna i throw up when wheeling and i get amazing reception

plus you detach the mic, throw on the battery pack and antenna and you have a strong handheld too...

    i keep mine here...

Good to know - thanks! I figured I would try just the radio for now and if I need an antenna that can be acquired later on...unless I can find a package deal somewhere

Just seeing if anyone is interested in taking the trucks out to play next weekend. Swiss has offered to impart some of his recovery skills upon us so we need a volunteer to get stuck in a snow bank. You in?

What wrong with the truck this time?

Stay tuned....what I can tell you is that whatever we do will be close to Bozeman (since so many of us are in this area) and it will just be a one day trip.

I felt so bad for the guy on the bike! OMG! And I've never seen anyone winch a bike up a hill before.....
I think we could do the exact same trip - I know that once you leave the interstate at Big Timber the road is a 2lane highway through a bunch of farmlands, then you get to Natural Bridge State Park (awesome place if you haven't been there) and the road turns to dirt. The road is in great shape and there are several cabins scattered around. It takes about 2 hours to get to the end of the maintained road and from there I don't know...you can see some of what they encountered in the video. I'm thinking that this would be a July or August trip. They did it in August from what I can tell and you do get up in elevation there so I'm thinking that the snow lingers around for a while.

You know...I was just watching part of that video again and I think that the Taco in the video is the same one that I have been stalking around town for a while now. I left a note on the windshield a few months back telling them to stop by here! LOL
