Anyone in here ever have Big O brand tires on your trucks? Specifically the AT? How well did they handle in the winter?

almost 2 years and 28K miles...not too bad. If I get 2 winters out of a tire I'm happy.

You have KO's? How are they in the snow? The guy at the tire shop said they weren't that great. I was deciding between them and General AT2's, very similar tread.

Holy crap, you need to change what tires your looking at.

I ran these on my '99. Goodyear Wrangler rt/s 31x10.5x15 and got 95k miles on them with decent tread left. They were amazing in 6"+ of snow.

I've never had a tire last longer than that on any vehicle :notsure:
Them look like highway tires not good for offroad.

yep, all terrain T/A KO's. they're pretty good in snow, not great. overall I'm happy with how they've performed. my next set will be michelin A/T2's.
the A/T2's have a better rating for fuel efficiency and comfort compared to the BFG T/A KO's.

They aren't MT's but would do just find off-road. Just have to get the LT spec tire.

dunno, maybe it's just me, but I can't see spending $600+ (more like $1000 now) every 2 years for tires, especially when your only putting on 30k miles.

I have the hankook atms on mine lisa. They are nice, and not bad offroading. I have around 35k-40k on mine and they still are pretty good. Great mileage still on the hwy as well.

    too highway-ish
Thanks G but I need to make up my mind by the end of this week. Have a big trip planned for the 12th - 15th and want to have them on by then.

    :pout: Fine. :D

Had Cooper ATRs on the last truck, very similar to Hankooks' AT. Pretty much a highway tire, you're right. But I had good luck with their life.

The BFGs seem to work really well here (in SC..mud, rain, highway) . Eager to test them out in deep snow and towing the boat around.

MadjikMan had like 100k on his last set of BFG ATs I believe.

I am at 33K with even wear and really feel it is time for a new set soon. 30K is not unreasonable if you wheel your rig a lot like Lisa does.

Besides, she would have gotten more outa the goodyear's by keeping up with the wheel alignment.

Lisa, if snow traction is priority, you may have to consider another set of the duratracs.

i ran mine without an aglinment..didn't seem to hurt em that bad. Mine have at least 20-30k on em now. Lots of wheeling..at least half the tread left now that i look at it or more.

    KM2s FTW!

Ha You have no idea how many miles are on your tires do you. :D Besides, Jon ran them before you. And maybe you got lucky with your alignment. She had the front end apart by installing ball joint and did not align it after that. It is likely way out.

Also, its not really fair to compare your 33s to her 31's. The smaller 31s take more abuse because of their size. They also turn many more revolutions for every mile traveled. I think the number is something like 50 more revsfor every mile. :notsure:

Very true..My 31s were holding up epic tho. Still looked new when i sold them with like 12k on em. And as for the alignment thats also probably true since my earlier taco takes lifts better anyways..supposedly..

But ya..no idea how many miles..i do know Jon beat the hell outa em..and now me :p haha

Lisa i still vote KM2s for you :p....even tho they aren't great on ice

Lisa, I have to agree with this ^^^

If I was in your situation, I think I would go with KM2s. The only thing I would add is I would sipe them. I have done that to the center tread blocks on my 3 sets of KM1s and it has helped a lot in slick (wet and icey) conditions.

Why oh why did bfg ever stop making a full liine of KM1s?
