    Hay MTgirl, I know those places. I think that is a fun ride. My wife says she will even go if I take the truck this year. We carried everything on our atv's normally. My buddy pulled a trailer with his atv and carried all their equipment. This year I hope to do some gold panning while doing the trail. I have always wondered about gold in some of the creeks as that is a gold rich area. How long did you guys spend on it? Aw man I am ready for summer now

    Me, Ben/m3bassman, Monte/blackdawg and Mike/digiratus/other old guy did a 3 day, 2 night trip in August of 2012. We started in Grangeville, did the Elk City Wagon Road and then the Magruder - camped near Sabe Mtn and then in Paradise. The boys got to continue on to the Lolo Motorway but I had to head home. I went back to the Magruder this fall - right after the mudslides were cleared - for another 3 day 2 night trip. I was shocked to see how much of the area had burned. Will be interesting to see if the road survives the spring run off. Have you been up there since the mudslides? Wasn't much of a channel left for the creek to run in.

    I remember seeing quite a few folks panning when we drove through. Its a good drive for the trucks, little dusty if you're in a group

    I haven't been there in 4 years. I bet a lot has changed. I had planned a trip 2 years ago with a buddy and friend from Idaho. Then work interferred and I had to bail. Which was a good thing as my Buddy had some issues with his atv and they wound up cutting the trip short. I hope the road survives the winter. I am not familiar with many trails around that I can ride on so it would stink to loose this one. Besides my tacoma is stock so I cant abuse it to much

    I definitely want to go back again - its just such a pretty area. Maybe we can get a group together this summer.

    If you haven't been there in 4 years then I know a lot has changed. Lots of fires have wiped out most of the trees along the road, very few shady campsites left. And the mudslides - once you cross over into ID from the MT side and get on the dirt road there are about a dozen slides of various sizes that came down across the road and blocked the road and creek. The fires burned up all of the grass and there was nothing holding the ground back. That continues on until around the area where the sign telling the story of Magruder is alongside the road.

    Wow sounds like a LOT has changed. Heck yea I am open to trying to get a group together. When ya thinking? Late July or August? Hopefully the roads should be open by then The only bad time for me is when school starts in the fall. I work for the school district in missoula and we are not allowed vacation at that time of the year. I do the infrastructure networking and we get swamped for about a month to a month and a half. I am all about getting a group together.

    NO, you're kinda funny lookin

    Don't know, haven't heard back from the people yet. :playball:

    Probably too early to tell but August would most likely work out - I know that area takes a while to dry out from the snow. We have plenty of time to plan. I went in September this year and it was nice - not too cool, no smoky skies, and it rained a little so there wasn't any dust. Lots of hunters though - I didn't realize it was bear season! :eek: Just me and 40 guys camping out in Paradise the first night. :laugh: Oh, well. No one bothered me....except the guy who peed on the floor of the outhouse.... :rant:

    Careful, girlfriend might get jealous ;)

    Dunno. Seems like a lot of miles for the price too but they've had it for a while so maybe they'd be up to negotiate a little bit.

    Very cool. I was thinking of a new 2015 taco but have now changed my mind for the next year or 2. I am sticking with my ol black 95 and gonna build it up. I have some open country's on 16's on it now and blacked out wheels from les schwab. A fiberglass topper and thats it. So I have a lot of room to improve. Oh yea A friend and I just made a rear plywood storage box for the bed area. The suspension is pretty well shot. So my next move is to improve that. Then find a DIY bumper and throw a winch in and then a RTT by late winter or early spring. My wife wont go camping with me if it involves sleeping in the bed of the truck. Or at least this little truck LOL. So I have been trying to figure out what is good stuff and what to stay away from. Also just found out all pro is just down the road for me. I think I might head there tomorrow and just look around

    :rofl::rofl::rofl:

    I built a relentless DIY bumper on my old 97, wasn't to bad. RTT's are sweet, Lisa's made me jealous when we tested out hers on the rack for her truck.

    Ya I have talked ot all pro about letting them design some shit on my 4runner

    And by tested it out I meant you know, making sure the rack could hold the weight of multiple people, and the bouncing it might experience on the trail, and stuff...you know stuff n junk

    :cool:figures.

    if you're really interested in RTTs I would check out CVT. That's what I have and love it. They will be doing a group buy at some point this year, no particulars have been announced yet.

    Hey, I'm just trying to keep you out of trouble here but if you don't care then that's fine too.
