    The best I can say it my welds look like a bird flew over and crapped on it LOL I actually talked to the shop I bought the welder at and he told me to bring it back and he would give me my cash back. So I did. I am going to save a little more and go buy a NEW welder. Lesson learned. Hopefully next week the 4x Innovations rock slidders will be added.

    Practice before you do sliders. Welding to the frame is important to get good penetration.

    I wouldn't recommend it for a first welding project.

    I was actually going to bolt them to the frame. As they also have bolt holes in the frame plates. Should I have them welded instead? LOL my neighbor that has a shop has offered to weld them up for me. We did some trading today. But should I weld them to the frame?

    The general theory is that welded on sliders are stronger than bolt ons. I had bolt ons and was fine, only took a few hits. I guess it depends on how much wheeling youre doing and how many things you hit along the way.

    I dont think I will be doing hard wheeling all the time but once in a while shit happens. So maybe bolting them on will be safe enough

    Thats why I had mine, for that every once in a while. They helped a ton when wrestling with the RTT too.

    Bolt-on sliders will be plenty strong. I think Monte reacted that way because you linked your welding skill to to getting new sliders, in the same paragraph. The assumption is, you were planning to weld on sliders with your welding skillz :))) even though they were designed for bolt on.

    I have read that bolt-on brackets can be every bit as strong as weld on.

    Yeah...my sliders had two good hits on them, through the powder coat.
    Pretty sure one was from that spot on goose lake and another was from that last rocky stretch to sawtooth lake the day before. I was tired and getting sloppy

    Ya I would go bolt on. Mine are welded on and its a pain cuz now I need to re-coat them cuz the paint is peeling and its gonna be a bitch.

    Also I am two wisdom teeth less wise....makes studying for this test monday a real pain in the ass when on pain pills.

    Aw crap if I lost 2 of my wisdom teeth I would be in trouble. Old and wisdom toothless. I bet it sucks for ya, sorry. Pain pills knock me out. I could never be a druggie. I had both of my knees replaced a couple years ago and boy I had some crazy hallucinations. Scared the hell out of me. I made my wife promise that she flushed the pills

    Surprisingly I can handle it pretty well. The bruising the swelling that went towards my throat is what really is hurting. Also trying to eat is a huge pain.

    Mashed potatoes, jell o and ice cream. Thats what i survived on when i had my wisdom teeth out. Did it over spring break. The pain pills made me loopy too. Didnt realize it until i had to go back to class. Trig was way more interesting then :laugh:
