I have seen quite a few of them. They aren't my favorite but I don't hate them either. If I go the Chevy route I will probably just buy a Silverado. I would like to take the diesel for a spin too. I probably won't pull the trigger on anything until I know my future here. I don't want to buy a truck, let the Minnesota winters destroy the underside, and then move somewhere not in the salt belt and have a rusted up rig.

I am looking for a couple of 15"x6" 5 lug rims with a 4-1/2" (114 mm) bolt pattern and a couple of 15" snow tires in the Bozeman area. So if you have some stock black steel rims collecting dust in your store room, please let me know.

How big a lift would a person have to go in order to run 35" tires? What else might a person have to do? I have a friend that has a 96 tacoma wondering. I told him I would ask

Running 35s is not for the faint of heart. There are quite a number of things to consider.

First is making room. A suspention lift will only get you about half way there. As Ben suggested, cutting and modifying the wheel well opennings is the other half. And there there is the whole gear ratio change thing. Bigger tires require a lot more torque to get rolling.

How deep are your friend's pockets?

    Yo, running 35s here.

    Not a fun project.

Plus I'm pretty sure you'd have to cut way more then us. Fitting 33s is tight on your year as it is.

That and you'd have to regear your diffs in order to have the truck useable. So add another 2 grand to the cost if you can't set your own gears, which I've also done and is also not for the faint of heart.

In the thread gage posted is the link to my write up on it in my build thread. If you want a real idea of it. And gears too

yea I talked to the guy and kind of explained the process. He just laughed and said no thanks. I said he has a tacoma actually my mind wondered. He has a 4runner. I am very sorry for saying the wrong rig. But we can imagine it is close if not more work then on a tacoma. By I had thought about 35's on my 95 but after reading the write-ups I think I might just stick with 33's when I get the chance. Heck I dont know if my 3.0 will turn the 33's. After driving the 96 with the 4 cyl I cant believe I have a 3.0 in mine. Feels more like a 1.0 now

Well. 4Runner would be the same about. Everything on those is almost the same. Still be a ton of work.

    It's about a 3000 dollar investment haha

    Had a 2002 DC, now a 2004 DC.
Did you already cutoff and clean your sliders?

My TG welded-on sliders were in bad shape. We cut them off, put the TG adapters on them; now they are bolt on. I was able to get them coated again, and can easily remove them if needed.

I thought that I would throw that out as an option for you.

Here are the adapters I used: https://www.trail-gear.com/TG/Chrom...__OD_x__065__Wall/i_0_0_4478/_180109-KIT.aspx
