Depends on which state they come from and the views they bring with them I think. I'll say no more than that. LoL

TW'S TOS will get me! And I think a mod frequents this thread....

Runner doesn't fit in his garage now - that's why I haven't been in a hurry to wash him.

Does it just not fit with your tent and the rack? OR cuz of just the rack?

    Some airbags lol.

Yea I don't really know what you could do for those 3". How tall is your rack? Did you get a aftermarket one? I can't remember.

i just have thule bars on the stock railings. if i attached the tent to just the railings and ditched the thule set up and if i took the ladder off i'd probably eek by but its not worth the effort

Thule bars? Will your stock cross railings not hold the weight?

the stock cross bars won't - the ends are plastic  that's the weak link in the stock roof rack
so the thule bars attach to the side railings and that adds a couple inches to the overall height. a few guys on t4r.org have mounted their tents directly to the side rails but it would involve remounting the railing on the bottom of the tent itself (they run the width of the tent, would need to go the length of the tent) and getting new hardware/brackets to actually bolt it down.

Ahh I follow ya. Hmm I wonder if a Frontline roof rack would sit lower then the thules.

i wanted a front runner slimline but they're too pricy. i think i would have fit - minus the ladder - with that set up. oh, well. there could be worse things
