Yeah designer shops... not really sure what those are. haha
I'd seen something that said there was a lot of rape for a small town, probably over-exaggerated though as it is a college town.
As far as Grad school program, I'm looking at the Physical Therapy program there. I'm not a city person, so I've been looking at a lot of schools that aren't in as densely populated areas and in decent climates and areas. I've always wanted to try out Montana so this school seemed like a great fit. Plus I'm ready for a break from Arkansas humidity.

Shit good for you. I have a buddy that got a 3.7 in his undergrad at UM and they wouldn't take him in the PT graduate program. That is insane to me going through the accounting program at the same school. If you have a 3.0 or better they pretty much let you right in to grad school.

As far as rape goes the reason it got so publicized here is because local law enforcement handled it terribly. I don't think there is any more or less than any other university per capita.

For general crime, the only thing I have ever personally run into is minor theft. Someone stole the off road lights from my jeep once. That pissed me off. Generally things are pretty safe. There are a lot of pot heads but they are fine, every once in a while you will run into an obvious meth head. There are a lot of pan handlers here in the summer but generally if you leave them alone they leave you alone.

Missoula is a great town, I actually grew up here and moved back the first chance I got. A little on the liberal side, yes! But it's a small price to pay for being so close to a ton of amazing things. I love raising my two young kiddos here and local crime rarely gets me excited. I can be single track mtn biking or trail running in less than 5 minutes, rafting/fishing in the heart of town on week nights and still get the kids to bed on time. Hard to beat that if you ask me.

Sadly with PT programs they look at so much more than just GPA. Generally there's a lot riding on the GRE scores, especially for the computer programs most schools use to first look at applications. Then if you make it through that you get an interview. I'm hoping for a miracle and that I'll make it through the computer weed-out process.
I'm from Oregon originally and my mom really wants me to go to school in Oregon, either Pacific or George Fox. Crazy both you and your wife are PTs. Any tips for me? haha

I might have a few. The clinic I work for has a steady stream of aids who go onto PT school. I've helped proof and polish a few essays for those kids. And you are right on, you need a decent GPA, but they also look at quite a few other things. Good luck with it!

@MTgirl and I went up Olson Creek last night for a quick picnic dinner. As usual Weesa cooked up some good grub! Corn on the cob, rice, and some marinated chicken that was pretty damn good. The views from up there onto the back side of the Bridger Mountains was pretty wonderful. Sadly, however, I got to learn the sobering truth of how the few can screw up wilderness access for the many.

    20170604_175326-01.jpg

Olson Creek is a bumpy dirt road to no where. Passing mostly through private land (owned by a logging company) the numerous "jeep trails" have all been permanently gated off. You can still see signs of land damage from stupid off-road adventurers who ventured into private land and left ruts, mud pits, and tracks where vehicles never belonged. Trail after trail we passed. So many bright blue signs, many riddled with bullet holes, proclaiming it as private land and no trespassing was not allowed.

Surrounded by what were likely so many fun trails to explore that we are no longer allowed to travel because of a small few idiots. It's extremely frustrating. What was once unused private land open to the public is now closed off to everyone.
