Bad luck. The guy is a mechanic. He said just prior to hitting the trail the engine was making noises. No water crossing. Not a bad trail, I mean I wouldn't take a Jeep Liberty, but the jeep was just old. Funny thing they had a nice f150 just behind it. Couldn't do much from were it was, lol.

Trying out the heavy duty OME (dakars) my wheelers AAL couldn't handle the weight and all the wheeling I've done across the country. Wheeling with some great friends in CO doing red cone pass and radical hill really put them to the test. Ha!

Nice hopefully they work out. I have the medium duty Dakars but I bought allpro expos because they don't handle my weight either. So the second I get my truck back i'll be installing those

@90yota nice! I went with dakars because that's what Mike's off road had on stock. I've done 5k in 5 weeks with RTT, fiberglass topper and everything I need to live. Lots of weight. Home on wheels with a view!

That's a ton a miles!! Sounds like a blast though. I'll be selling my dakars once they are off. They are great for my truck without any weight.

Yeah, there's a lot of dirt/rock miles too. It's been fun. I still have to drive back home to Vermont!

Hey @henryp, really like your truck! Are those AP apex sliders? If so, how do you like them and how was the install?

Thanks! They are the AP Apex, they work great, not a whole lot of clearance lost. Instructions not so great, I wish they had a video. But here's an install thread I used as reference. Only issue I've got with these is they sit a little too close to my cab, they rattle when driving through very rough roads. I think I saw a post from @Pigpen that solved this issue (?cab mounts?) OR you might have better luck than I did. I powder coated locally, but touch them up with spray pain after scraping.

Many thanks to all that replied on the real axle seal job (seals, bearings and brake shoes) on my Skye's 2000 4R.

So much field work for a office job.
