I hate being first in line at the crossings here...watching the rails flex under the weight of the cars... o_O

Welcome to MT. Make sure and winterize your taco (windshield washer fluid, new wipers, good all weather tires).

Welcome to the Big Sky. You might also want to bring your long underware.

I'm definitely doing a new battery, this one is 5 years old. I used to live in Kansas and grew up in Indiana, so I get winter, although this will be different. Do I really need a block heater? Thanks to all for the suggestions

    no.

Few times a year you'd think it would be nice. but you'll be fine without it. Doesn't get below -10 THAT much.

Just keep your new battery fully charged and use full synthetic oil and you will be fine.

Just a little colder than Indy. And believe it or not, some places windier. Having lived in Indiana the one thing that got me was the washer fluid. I got the cheaper stuff that didn’t go much lower than 0F. You will see -20-30 for several days it feels like.

Went out with Rimrock 4x4 and Cascade county offroad group. Tons of people showed up. It was a fun trip. The colors were amazing. Just wish it wasnt so gloomy and cold already.

We'll have to hit next summer. Some of the guys were saying in june the water came up to the hood on their jeeps. So August would be fun and nice and warm. Tons of swimming holes too

Been off TW for a while.

Wrecked my truck Sept 21st. Got distracted, didn't see a big metal pole with a giant concrete block at the bottom in a parking lot. Literally 12mph impact in a parking lot. Current estimate is $4,774 in repairs to suspension components. No real body damage. Just the fender flare. Pelfreybilt bumper and my lift gave enough approach angle that the only thing that truly hit the block was the tire.

Cooper ST Maxx with 2 years and 30k+ miles on it, battle scars from Moab and elsewhere, and an impact that bent my spindle in half, busted the upper control arm, steering knuckle, and other components... and the tire is intact. LOL Those tires are bomber.

Been stuck driving a Nissan Rogue rental car. AWD but has nearly bald summer tires on it. Not excited about that right now. But it's my own damn fault. ;)

Photo of the aftermath. Been driving over 20 years and NEVER had an at fault collision. Makes you feel pretty dumb. Life has been really, really stressful lately. Mentally and emotionally distracted on the way home, thought another vehicle was going to hit me, missed a turn, cut through a parking lot, got distracted by things outside the truck, then my phone. Shit happens I guess.
