Last weekend started the drive up to Cataract Lake toward the Hollow Top Mountain area. Part way up on Cataract Rd it was getting sketchy slippery cause of snow and ice still on the road did a hillside back up and turn around. Maybe another week or two and i can access the area further up into that area. Also reporting Patosi Springs Road was also Closed last weekend due to washouts.

Won't be able to do much of anything for probably a month or more. Roads will be super muddy and gross and you'll just tear them up. Most roads in higher elevation are closed till July as well to keep people from destroying them.

Mainly just wanted to make it to Cataract Lake, i know it will be a bit longer before the higher up portion of that drive. Plus i am impatient to get out there, got this truck in December and just itching to get it high and dirty. LOL I Turned around cause if i did go any further it might have damaged the road underneath, i do have upmost respect for the public access privilege provided by these roads.

No discount tire in Bozeman. Just had Firestone install my tires and luckily they didn’t screw anything up. If I would have known there was a discount tire in Helena I would have made the drive up there.

I have to order another spare tire from Tire World down there near Four Corners near Dark Horse Customs, competitive prices and they do quality work.
I currently ride on TOYO OPEN COUNTRY M/T TIRES on 20" CALI OFFROAD® - 9100 BUSTED Satin Black Rims with Milled Accents

Those rims make those brake rotors look tiny.... :(

    Our trucks need bigger brakes.

Tirebuyer.com has them and they will ship and install in Missoula at the north reserve firestone. I've HAVE used those guys for mounting and balancing a couple of times and they have done alright. Tirebuyer usually has a 7% off code floating around as well on top of the 10% off they have now for nitto's

Tirebuyer on eBay has $100 off rebate on a lot of tires right now.

I honestly can't wait for Discount Tire to open here in Billings. We had their sister company Americas Tire in California. (Same exact company just had to change their business name because another company was infringing on their copyright to DISCOUNT TIRE) They always had great prices and they actually carry various wheels INSTOCK!! One thing that other tire shops don't do here.

That's because in California you lived in a town where there was probably a million+ or so people within an hour of that store. Now there's barely over a million in the whole state of Montana.

Every small town I've lived in in Montana and Wyoming has had a great tire shop. Just buy tires online and have them mount them. If they don't do a good job ask them to fix it how you want it. Most the time the techs will be excited to have something different and almost challenging. If still not good. Try another shop. Sucks but so what, such is life. In Billings and Bozeman you'll find a good shop if I can in Columbus lol

True. I do know of a few good tire shops already actually. I just like the idea that I could go in to the store one day and pick out a wheel. I'm not saying that they carry my wheel size, but they usually carried multiple styles in store. What I'm trying to say is that I like to see the wheel in person before I order it. Most shops around here just show you pictures on a computer.

On a side note does anyone have any leads on some Coyote hunting? I know its kind of late but I'd figure I'd ask.

Is that the guys looking for people to give away all the good spots in each state to compile a data base then charge for it but not pay for the information or do any research themselves??

Exactly. I figured a good Montanan would only give out info on lame dirt roads and save the good stuff to secrecy. :spy: Nothing to see here.
