That's how you know you have a good friend, you find a new thread to introduce your self to a new community of members. When you see you buddy is already being proactive in trying to find a place for you to live. Either that or he's ready to get rid of you . Thanks Overkill07

    Wait a second.... it’s you? Montana’s closed.

Edit: Just seen your a cop? You joining one of the law enforcement agencies here in Billings? (Also, considering the BS attitude about cops these days and just to get ahead of assumptions, it’s a curiosity question and zero issues with any form of law enforcement.)

Anyways, my wife and I are relocating to Billings she going to be working for a laboratory, I have a new job at Diesel Tech. We are pretty excited for our move. We are always ready for a trail ride, mod weekend or just meeting up for a drink with some new friends.

lol that answers my q- any prospective houses?

If you don’t have a realtor yet and are currently a cop or first responder, look up Jeff Wilson (www.jeffwilsonrealty.com) and ask about homes for heroes. He’s the only one in Billings that’s involved with the program (it’s nation wide). It can potentially save you thousands if you’re looking to buy.

Less of a promotion of his company (good dude though) and more about the program. Worth researching.

No sir, actually trading in my badge and gun for a set of wrenches on Friday. Gave over 5 years on the force, now my wife and I are looking to slow down a bit.

Good call, the local departments can be a bit of a shit show at times. More leadership related then the actual officers, feel bad for most of them actually. Plus we are pretty undermanned.

Thank you sir, we have our application in for a rent house, we just wanted something quick for now until we have a better feel for the area.

Makes sense. We moved home in 15’ after 20 years away. Stayed with the folks for a year to acclimate to the area and housing costs. For what you would expect in MT, it’s gotten kinda pricey here.

I think its gotten that way across most of the nation, you dont have enough first responders who actually have enough time to try and make a positive influence. The job has become mostly reactive do to the issues you stated. This leaves a lot of departments with no time for the important things like proactive work an public relations so you began to loose support from the same people that rely on you for that emergency situation.

That is true, I was surprised at the price of newer homes, I do however like the price of land. It's still reasonable.

Land is super reasonable, just make sure it has power at least at the property line. Running power can get expensive really fast.

I organized a trail run last year out of Billings. I don't think there's been another since? We should definitely do more though!

EDIT: Trail run was in spring.

I think people do, at least close by. I don’t really 4x4 myself but I’ve seen a few post in here about it.

I've been tossing around the idea of getting Lithia Toyota involved for some sort of 4X4 meet and greet in the old Sears parking lot.

Nice taco! Make sure and get some warm clothes. A little colder up here than TX.
