I’m sure considering the entire population hasn’t been tested. Just the point that our current numbers are zero confirmed. Any of those fancy schmancy places, like big sky, have probably had the celebrities and what not already bring it in.

There are a few Montana tests being confirmed at CDC. If we were to have 2 positive tests in the state, statistically there maybe hundreds of positive ones untested. Stay home if you can. Make sure to have plenty of non-perishables food items at home. Save the distilled water for those who need it, tap is fine to drink. Everyone should stay away from public gatherings. Coming from a very concerned healthcare professional.

oh i'm guessing its here. and the first case will be either in Helena (because of govt' and folks traveling), or here in Bozeman at either the airport, Big Sky resort or MSU campus. I'd bet money on it.

we had a meeting today at work and everyone who can work from home is being told to. optional for me but I will be. next week we have a guy out on vacation and I'm his backup so I feel like I need to be there for double duty but if it's slow I'll be working from home by midweek. we'll close our doors entirely if the schools close.
I usually keep a bit of a stockpile of food anyways so I've got quite a bit in the pantry and freezer. went to the store tonight just to get some more fresh and frozen produce and a couple other things. parking lot was packed - at 4pm. TP aisle was barren. As was the mac and cheese (?), pasta and canned veggies. Plenty of frozen goods and canned and fresh fruits. No sense to what people are buying.

I’m sure you seen already but all the colleges are going online as of the 23rd. Not sure for the others but all the MSU campus professors can switch before, just not after. I work on campus and attend classes at MSUB, still waiting to see if our jobs go to remote or not. If so, I won’t be doing much because I can’t lol. Bad part is, our annual reporting is due the first week in April so everyone is working on closing those files out.

GF was a ghost town on the way to work this morning. Luckily grocery shopping wasn't a nightmare though. Surviving on beer and pasta

Just got back from the Walmart on Smelter in GF not many people but even after having all night to stock there were a lot of empty shelves. No TP,sugar, flour the canned goods, frozen pizza, hot pockets ect.. were pretty picked over, soup ramen pasta bottled water was almost wiped out as well as canned tuna. I only went in to get a few things, some Progresso Homestyle chicken soup was on my list ( my daily lunch ) ended up with a case up Hearty Chicken Rotini instead.

I can't even imagine what the Bozeman WM looks like....even on a good day the shelves are half empty because they don't have the staff to stock things.
I also bring a lot of Progresso soup to work for lunch and both Albertsons and Smiths had it on sale in January for $0.99 so I stocked up then just because it was a killer deal. Kinda glad I did that now!
I don't plan on going anywhere today. With everything going on and bad weather supposedly moving in tonight I am perfectly happy to be a hermit for the weekend. Plus I need to clean out my 2nd bedroom and unearth my desk back there so I can set up a home office.

Heard the grocery stores are wiped out in Bozeman. This whole thing makes me realize I need to be better prepared. Not anything extreme like a bunker full of food but at least have enough supplies to last a month. We are living minimalist right now in a 1 bedroom apartment so don’t have room for much but thinking how a small media scare like this can wipe out the local food supplies so easily really opens my eyes. So when all this calms down I will become a prepper as they say.

Town and Country in Belgrade was OK last night. For whatever reason people are favoring canned foods over frozen so there's plenty of frozen veggies and stuff. Guess they think the power grid will fail and our refrigerators will become worthless? Pasta, rice, canned veggies, TP and water were all pretty picked through but everything else was still pretty well stocked.

As long as you have salt and flour, you can eat as good as men in the trenches. :D

I’ll just leave this here so you can all feast later tonight!

Having lived out of town in the past we have always had a bit of a stockpile of necessities/non perishable food along with two freezers full of various stuff. I never knew when we could be snowed in and unable to make it to the store so we always had about a months worth of basics on hand. That stayed with us when we moved in town even though I only live a mile away from Walmart and the Mrs. works there to boot..lol

Bozeman folks coming to Livingston grocery stores. They are packed. My friend just texted. Not a whole lot of food left.

We were stationed in NJ when Sandy hit, ever sense then we have always had a little generator and small stockpile of nonperishables. Keep just above half a tank, couple 5 gal gas tanks, and pull cash out when weather or people get panicked. Now that we’re back home, it’s crazy snow, hail storms or people panicking over whatever is the new thing.
