Anyone been up in the Elkhorns recently? Have to be in Clancy for a memorial on Sunday afternoon and looking at taking the big adventure bikes and checking the area out. Might change our minds and haul the "dirt" bikes down and use them. Recommendations on places to see? Be down there Saturday night thru Wednesday morning. Thanks all!

I’ve done a fair bit of poking around in there over the last few years, mostly on the east side. Lots of roads and some real long roads to drive with some great views! Didn’t find any rough trails and wasn’t really watching for dirt bike trails but I’m sure you can find something!

Camped in the Breaks this weekend and the spot was amazing.
    IMG_6066.jpg

Rained probably a half inch or more and we got stuck on the way out. Just another reason to hate all these cows on our public land.
    thumbnail_IMG_6093.jpg

Took me about 8 hours to get out, finally was able to winch out with this rig job.

Nice improv on the anchor. Wish I had that kind of ingenuity.

Damn, looks like I dodged all the bullets. Bighorn was only up to 7500CFS and we left Craig on the 2nd before that storm hit.

Yeah Luckily I did not get flash flooded but I watched my grass get pummeled and have an inch plus of standing water in like a half hour. Found out my doggie door leaks! I was trying to catch the water in buckets as it was coming in! lol

But Yes survived now! how about the rest of you all?

Who all is in great falls these days? I have two buddies here who recently bought tacos. Was wondering if there’d be any interest in a meet up some time

    Here we go again!
The area I live in Billings barely saw any rain. While other parts had the flooding and hail. We were lucky while others weren’t. These crazy storms have been just that!

Does anyone have any updated information on the roads around Cooke city? Lulu pass - Goose lake jeep trail? I wonder if the Fisher creek crossing is impassable or any other issues. Thank you!

Probably best to check with the forest service ranger district directly, they're not the best at updating the websites with current info

The cruiser group is planning a run up to Goose Lake in the next couple weeks. They seem to think everything in fine. https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/goose-lake-august-trail-ride-yes-or-no.1287793/

NFS says road is open and Fisher creek crossing is passable.
