checkout KDMAX Tune too. Remote tune available too. Shoot me a PM if you have questions.

working on a Montana tune day. I have another guy in Bozeman who is interested. I will plan a trip if I have at least 4 or more trucks. Have a couple others in the area too

We can diagnose and correct it or clear the check light. Should not be an issue.

Does anyone have any interest in a CBI high clearance rear bumper without swingout for a 3rd gen Tacoma? Located in Bozeman and still in truck. Just a feeler!

Have been planning a trip from KY through Wyoming and Montana that we're taking off on in a couple weeks. Getting down to the fine tunes. Just wondering if there are any cool spots that you all enjoy, like to visit, see, etc. Between the Yellowstone and Glacier area as we work out way north towards Glacier. Off the beaten path small town areas, preferred, but down for any final recommendations. Thank you all for any info!

The drive through anaconda to Philipsburg is always worth it. Plus tons and tons of old mines and trails around that area.

Tobacco roots mountains are cool too. Lake Louise is a chill hike and pretty.

I would go in to Yellowstone from the South Gate either from the Moose Junction or Jackson depending on your routing, you'll get to see the Tetons then, which is 100% worth it IMO.

I would work up the east side to Glacier, come out of Yellowstone on the north entrance, or go out 212 over the beartooth Highway (see below), up through the shields valley, up to White Sulphur the hot springs there is awesome and the hottest in the state, either take the smith river valley road or go over kings hill, cut back down through Cascade, to 287 and get some time and a look at the east side of glacier, entering through east glacier or st mary,(if you can get a reservation), I would avoid as much of the Flathead valley as possible and go through Swan south, Seeley Lake is one of my favorite little towns. Take 200 to I90 and either wander down to P-burg and George town lake via Rock Creek or 1. If you like beer I would argue Smelter City Brewing in Anaconda has the best beer in the state. Thats probably 2-4 days depend on how you choose to break it up.

If you can extend from there the Skalko Highway (State 38) is awesome. Hit the 93 and go south to Salomon ID, or Down through Wisdom MT to the Big Hole National Battlefield. If the latter, Butte is full of history, its a little bit of a derelict but don't let that run you off. A Fried Pork chop sandwich from either the OG pork Chop Johns or a Wapchop from the Freeway bar is worth the stop over. Pipestone and the ringing rocks is cool on your way back east. Skip Bozeman all together, stop in Livingston for a Staple of Marks In and Out, family run burger joint that's been in business 65 years. From there, Red Lodge, over the bear tooth highway 212 and out to Cody Wyo on 296.

From there I would suggest you make your way through Powell and Lovell, a very quick trip north of Lovell lands you in Big Horn National Rec Area, you'll feel as though you are in the desert south west with all the red rock.

If you can't swing that on time, Continue up over the Bighorns into Sheridan, Wyoming, a very cool underrated town. From there its choose your own adventure to drop south on 25 or east on 90 at Buffalo Wyo.

Things I don't recommend as a refugee of the tourist trap towns around Yellowstone:

West Yellowstone, Nothing to see don't go in or out of the park that way, its a tourist trap, flat lodge pole forest all around, its bleh. Likewise Gallatin Canyon/191 to Bozeman, always being worked on, littered with foreigners, and semis at the same time, the odds of being stuck in traffic are HIGH, its also just incredibly dangerous for a relatively uninteresting drive.

Bozeman, Kalispell, and Whitefish, are all overrated, tourist traps with shitty parking and anywhere worth camping near will be blown out with families of Brads and Karen's who are trying to use a family road trip to save their marriage, skip em.

Depending on timing, don't bother with Hayden Valley between Lake Village and Canyon Village, bison jams can last hours and tend to be completely worthless. If you want to see the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, I would recommend you do Hayden Valley in the morning before everyone is moving.

I would avoid 93 between Kalispell and Missoula, same reason as 191 between West and Bozeman.

Don't camp on the Blackfoot reservation, you probably are a card carrying tribal member, so just don't. They are friendly folks but annoyed by outsiders.

Everywhere you are going has Griz, including outside the parks. Prepare accordingly.

Awesome man. Tons of of great information that I'll definitely take into consideration and work around. We are entering the park from south coming up from Colorado area from HWY 70 through Denver.

    Definitely didn't spill any beans.

Although I'd disagree than Hayden valley isn't worth it. Id say Hayden and lamar valley are two of the more beautiful spots to drive through in the Park.

Also 191 isn't terrible to drive through I've done it many times. Bozeman does suck now traffic wise but not compared to anywhere with actual traffic.

I might be jaded, I grew up in the interior I've been through there 100s of times. Likewise with canyon, however all the Big Sky construciton traffic and road work being done just makes it a chore anymore.

My point on Hayden Valley is drive it in the morning before the jams start and you are stuck in a lodge pole stand for half the day.

I grew up in Yellowstone basically, on the Wyoming side. Traffic is just the way of Yellowstone. The trick is to never be in a hurry to be anywhere while there. Then it's always enjoyable. Always beautiful. Always different.

It's not terrible through there again so long as you aren't in a rush. Plus for someone that's never been there, it'll be awesome no matter where they go.

Having lived in the south prior to MT I find that things just take longer to get to in Montana. There are some really cool places to check out. Just need time and gas.

I just went to Gates of the Mountains. Pretty neat place to spend the day or backpack around.

Route 212 on Beartooth is a definite must, but very longish.. Probably construction delays as well
It's closed during the winters for obvious reasons
If my old-as-dirt rig can clutch and crawl those steep grades then yours can too :)

I drove some of the lulu pass trail just north of cook city and ended up with a flat (old patched up tire that had no business going up rocky terrain). Trying to change a tire at 10k feet above sea level was something else. Anyway, it’s very nice country out there.
