Anyone interested in going to cleghorn this Saturday around 5pm? I’d like to get a group together to go so that I don’t have to hit it alone

I don’t think for 2n17 you’ll be able to make it with 2wd only. I think 2n33 is doable for 2wd

yeah Gorman is mostly just fire roads, it's why it's always full of dirt bikers and ATV riders because it's the perfect kind of 'go fast' terrain for them. Except the rangers at Gorman are pretty strict with speed and stuff especially around campsites, they will issue tickets

There are some more technical trails in Gorman but just a few, mostly fire road stuff.

I'm a newbie from North County SD. My wife and I are looking for some dispersed / primitive camping at elevation. I've been scoping out BLM land, but not really familiar with it. I know Anza Borrego well, but it is closed and HOT. Any suggestions? Not interested in "paid camp sites". Driving stock TRD Sport 4x4. Not spineless, but have no desire to break anything...none at all.

I don't think Anza is closed but I personally wouldn't want to head out there this time of year. Anything in elevation will have to be a "yellow post" which isn't bad but you cannot have any type of fire for obvious reasons. Big Bear has some good ones, especially on the south side of the mountain that a stock truck could do no problem.
