Agree with smaller groups. In for an early start... Earlier the better but will follow the group plan.

How are you guys feeling about meeting at 8am? Get a start before it gets too warm

The leader knows nothing about the trails in the area

Maybe we can meet on the 55 fwy on Chapman exit at 6:30AM? I know there's a Starbucks we can meet up at
    1630 E. Chapman Blvd, Orange, CA 92866

    8AM start is perfect.

Also what is everyone using for comms? I don't have anything and complete noob on that topic...all I know is I need to get a technical license for ham use.

    8am works for me
Another option we could do instead of staggering start times would be to do different groups on different trails, since it seems like (according to that map) there's a main road in and several different trails from there

Personally I'd like to hit up the 4wd marked trail first

Staggered trails is a good idea. 3n06b paiute and 3n06a coldwater seem to be the most popular. Both accessible from Lytle Creek Rd or 3n31y

I'm good with that. We could have everyone meetup at one spot in Lytle, and from there split into groups. Which trail is marked 4wd? I'm up for a challenge
I'm watching a video on ColdWater now, looks pretty good
