Anyone that has a HAM radio be sure to bring it along, if we have a 2wd group doing the main trail we'll be well out of range until we closer to where the two trails meet

I can post a map of the trail tomorrow showing where the trails start and converge. There's a big open area after where they meet but the 2wd group will get there well before the 4wd group does, up to them if they want to hang out and wait or not

That's what I intend on doing

@Nicklovin we should probably get an idea who's doing which trail, Pilot Rock/2N33 and 2N17x are different trails but they both start at the same place and converge later on. The both have hard offshoots but 2n17x is 4x4 only. Anyone that is iffy on doing 2n17x, the entrance has a steep/shelved gatekeeper - if you think it looks fun you'll do fine, if it doesn't look fun then you'll want to stick to the regular 2N33 trail.

    see my lovely map

How bad is it? I’m DCLB so shelved gatekeeper might pose a problem for my wheel base since I still need mid/transfer skids.

there's 2 ways up the gatekeeper, the shelved climb or the non-shelved climb. The non-shelved climb is steeper and looser dirt but usually no big deal if you have 4wd and decent tires, I've never seen anyone not get up that way. I have seen people not make it up the shelved climb though, usually if you aren't at least rear locked the shelved climb can be tricky if you don't get the line just right.

Pretty much every obstacle on 2N17x has a bypass of some sort but no matter what it's considerably steep/loose in many sections so 4wd is required IMO for 2N17x

Ahh okay thank ya. Should be good then, I’m locked front and rear as long as the seals in the ARBs aren’t being stupid.

if you're front/rear locked then there's nothing on this trail you won't be able to do lol. I'm sure you've probably done much more challenging ones, really the only hard thing about this one is the loose dirt climbs and some rutted out climbs. But it's nothing like a rock crawling trail
