My dad got his welding engineering Degree from ASU. I’d worry about the rest of that Jeep falling apart.

Either a Tie rod or drag link. Drag link is steering box to opposite knuckle, tie rod "ties" the sides together. Looks like a tie rod to me.

I've used a readywelder before, they're cool, but can be finicky. The tension adjuster on the drive wheel can be screwy, but it's patched up a few things on my crawler. Great tool to have at your disposal

Gonna be up in Oregon this weekend otherwise I'd be down, need to test out these new LBJ's and see if they hold up

Actually...driving up/down Big Bear would probably be a bad place to test that out. They should be fine though lol

    What trails you guys doing?

So I know the first order of business is just an easy forest road. They have to replace their sign that some jack hole keeps stealing. Then I have heard talks of maybe gold mountain, not 100% sure yet though.

Gold is a lot of fun, kind of a short trail but takes a few hours because it's got some tough obstacles. The 'glass' rock garden toward the top is really cool (just a rock garden that sounds like you're driving on broken glass when you cross it). Make sure you have good tires for that trail lol.

    From Google

I have some falken wildpeak at3s. They are fairly new so fingers crossed. I say fairly new, they look new but I’ve had them for a year now maybe a little longer. I am interested to see how my lsd improves offroad traction vs my old open diff. Should be able to climb up a bit easier this year.

Those tires should be fine, especially if they're E rated. If C rated then you'll be more vulnerable but since they're new I'm sure you don't have to worry about them. Just don't air down too low with C rated tires.

LSD will definitely be an improvement over an open diff, Gold Mtn has some obstacles that almost necessitate a rear locker but I've seen people do them with open diffs and picking careful lines.

They are e rated, big heavy bastards lol. Hopefully if I go there is no issues, I don’t have a winch yet but it’s on my list of things to get.

You'll be with other rigs so you'll be good, Gold Mtn always has traffic on it on the weekends anyway lol.

Hey I forget, so that last obstacle we did. The one where everyone kept digging out hole deeper for the last guy, with the smallest tires thanks guys , was there a bypass for that? I remember you asking if we wanted to do another obstacle or leave couldn't remember if that was the extra bit
Just "carefully" gun it. Worked for me :D

That was the bypass technically haha. The harder hill was to the right of the one we did. But there was an exit off the trail shortly before that spot

I've got them and ran it wet and dry, no problem. We've taken open diff guys too without too much issue and a decent spotter.
