Is there still no monthly-meetup for August? I need to get my LCA cam tab gusset repaired so I will most likely be out for August but we should definitely keep this thread alive!

Same here, this summer was supposed to be a repair season for me. Thing is I'm itching to go, haven't been offroad since the superstition trip this year.

I do like it but the rattling drives me nuts, can hear it overhead in the cab pretty much constantly while driving.

Tightened down every bolt on it numerous times but it's coming from the bolts drilled into the roof that hold it in place. Just gonna take it off and patch the roof and enjoy the better highway mpgs...its too high profile and kills my mileage on the highway.

Not to mention I rarely use it for anything really other than the lights mounted to it, but those would be better mounted to a front bumper.

Nope but didn't need to cause it made zero noise the first year/year and a half...pretty sure it's 2 or 3 of the well nuts that came loose. Had to use 8 of them to mount it and they over tighten and break easily.

Gorman's Pronghorn Trail claims another victim...

Spent the day wheeling out in Gorman with a fun crew, who were in an early modified Yota, late model Jeep and early 4Runner.
We hit Homestead, Freeman and the Pronghorn trails. The temps were close to 80 when we left camp.

The 4Runner did a little too much bouncing on the Pronghorn 'Gatekeeper', bent the steering relay rod and had to be winched up the trail.
He was able to limp back to camp. Repairs were made and a crude alignment was done using some ingenuity.
All other vehicles made the trek unscathed.

Ive seen several bad accidents on pronghorn including rollovers that hillclimb changes with seasons and traffic. Other than that obsticle its pretty easy going.

Lets get an August trail run going! I most likely won't be able to participate, I'll be busy this month (and I need to take a break from hard off-roading, I can't risk an expensive repair with a wedding coming up quick), but I'm happy to help organize!

You get your brake line worked out? I probably won't be doing anything this month either, got too much work on the truck I need to do and I'd like to not add any more repairs to the list until I get them done lol. Got new tie rods coming in tomorrow gonna start with those and my carrier bearing, then maybe move onto all the bad bushings making awful noises.

Not quite. I replaced the passenger side, but the driver's side that was actually broken the nut on the hard line on the body side, the nut got rounded out, so I had to order the hard line for that side. Waiting for that to come in. I just stopped there, and didn't try the rears, because it was hot, and my wife and our friend showed up and wanted to go swimming. The choice was obvious.

Yeah I've put off doing a lot of work on my truck the last few weeks because of the heat

Pretty much I haven't done anything, actually. Lol
