Pilot Rock is an easy trail. I id it about 2 months ago. Started about 9am and it was fairly busy. I just did the easy trail while a couple people die the 4x4 trail. It's a bunch of fun.

Everything that was mentioned in the post is true. Stay to the RIGHT. The is no way you can mistake the easy trail from the hard trail. Maybe I'll join you guys. Have to see what my scheduled is.

You mean stay to the right :gossip: the left side is the gatekeeper to the hard trail haha

Like you said though it will be easy to identify, you can't mistake the hard portion for the easy one or vice versa.

The real tricky part of the hard gatekeeper is when you get to the top...can't see it from the bottom but right there at the top is a very off camber twist in the trail that takes you around the corner. If you don't approach it right you can find yourself in a predicament, had that happen to one guy with us a couple trips ago out there. We spent over an hour trying to get his truck safely out of that spot without it tipping over, nearly happened a couple times

Differently don't try it if you're alone. One day I'll try it after I put my sliders on.

Yeah we had one of my friends with us in his FJ last time we did it and he had his stock running boards on...that gatekeeper crushed them in the first 2 minutes of the trail lol. He got some sliders a couple weeks later

That's 1 way to convince the wife you need to spend money on sliders. :D

Hmm, I might be interested in making this trip since it's on a sundayfunday.

Also shot in the dark, anyone making a trip to CO with a long bed wanna pick up a shell for me? I'll slide ya a chunk of change. Doubt anyone is but it's worth a shot.

I can’t remember... the last time when you go to the top you had to stick left to wrap around that off camber section though right? Like there wasn’t a bypass for that at all?

I would post this in the main Southern California forum just to get a bit more exposure! Hope it works out for you, I just went through the royal pain it is to find a decent camper

The bypass is at the bottom and it takes you around those rocks you would otherwise have to climb, but yeah when you get to the top no matter which side of the gatekeeper you take, you want to stay left

A large group of 805 members attended the CORVA Hungry Valley Poker Run this past Saturday. CORVA put on a very fun event, raffle and BBQ, can't wait for the next one.

    Here's the run...

Hey guys sorry life happened. Did any of you have a preference for timing? If not I'll throw out a time. Most likely earlier than later in the morning.

As for the meetup spot before the trail we can do the Chevron or mcdonalds off the 15 and Sierra road.

    McDonald's
3870 Sierra Ave, Fontana, CA 92336
    (909) 349-1262
    https://maps.app.goo.gl/4yLXCtbT2M233Bci7

I'm at work now till late but I gotta recheck with the wife on what time I can bounce out at. Meet at 930am? Depart by 1005am? Earlier?
