Op! Well first off a little credentials, I'm studying Kinesiology (to become personal trainer and open my own gym) so i know a great deal of info on this topic. I'm not saying i know the most, but i know more than your average joe.

Man boobs eh? Like has been said here physical health and fitness is 80% diet and 20% physical activity. You'd be surprised how, skipping the late night snack, and swapping a salad for a burger can help you out. Don't trick yourself into thinking that just because your job is physically demanding, that you're getting a good physical activity "workout".

A quick easy thing to do. Buy a jump rope. Jumping rope for 15 minutes a day 6 days a week can help a great load. Don't buy into the bull of buying a sauna suit or wearing trash bags to help you sweat. Yes you will lose weight. but only water weight, which you will easily gain back. Trust me, I've cut 6 lbs. in one day to make weight for my fight.

To summarize. EAT HEALTHY. And get out and get active! Make it a family affair and you will see how fitness can be fun!

More comments! Thanks everyone! Busy day yesterday. Lots of work then the wifes stepbro and his g/f stayed for dinner.

    Hmmm...

With the work thing...the way i figure it, no matter what I'm doing, I just need to be active. Even just being more active should work off calories, shouldn't it? Not trying to turn work into "exercise" but just being more active there. I dunno, I think work was probably the one thing that was keeping me from totally ballooning up in weight honestly, maybe I'm wrong.

And when there hasn't been anything to do at work, I have found a way to get in 20 mins of some "cardio" or whatever. That whole tire and stairs thing. Used the 33 for a bit, went down a 235-75/15. Not trying to kill myself. I do a 15-20 minute thing. Haul the tire up the step rested on a thigh, down and back up again. It seems stupid but I work up one hell of sweat in that time and heart rate gets going really good.

Hmm...one issue I do see from everyone's comments is the late dinner/late eating topic. I don't get off work until 7pm, come home and have the family dinner around 7:30. Maybe try a little 20 minute cardio type thing in the later evening to keep the system on the up and up? I have cut out eating the stuff after dinner though. That was pretty common.

You all have made me feel stupid for still drinking the pop. Man. I'll cut the AM one, but goddamn, after a long day at work, fuck it tastes so good with dinner.

I actually really like the jump rope idea. It's small. It's portable and it's cheap. It's totally something I could do on a slow day @ work.

Point is total calories throughout the day.....I work graveyards and eat before i go to bed in the morning and have lost weight. Just don't overdo it on the carbs......1 diet soda won't kill you if it saves your sanity!

You've also got to tone up those areas along with the cadio......hybrid shit, with cardio and push ups/pull ups thrown in there. Fighters have the best physique's and conditioning and that's the shit they do! Keep it simple and something you enjoy and CAN/WILL do consistently!

Cardio is what keeps you alive and healthy later in life. My grandpa was a fighter in his younger days and lifted weights constantly. But no cardio and high fat diet. My dad described him as "Arnold with a pot belly". He had his first of 4 heart attacks right around 40. Died at 65. The high chloresterol runs in our family. My dad turns 59 this year. He's been a runner and road biker consistently since college. He is at least as healthy as I am at 33. Cardio saves lives. Work it in somehow.:)

OP- just commit to giving yourself at least one hour..a whole 4% of ur day! It's not rocket science (unless u prep for a show...many tricks there)
Know what's funny? It's cheaper to eat "clean" than it is crap all day
    M1-eggs/oats
    M2-shake/apple
    M3-chicken/rice/spinach
M4-rice cakes, pb, boiled egg whites
M5-chicken, beef, or fish with potato and spinach
M6-shake With a tbsp of almond or pb

--cheap, simple, and gets the job done.

    Double Stack @ Wendy's - $1.59 (or more)
    Value Fry - $1.00

Oh and that Mr Sean, thats a guy who's buff as shit.

This was pretty much my daily routine prviously...

    - Diet Pepsi all day pretty much.

    - Bfast: Drive-Thru something. Was BK for awhile, then Tim Horton's. This had gone on quite a long time. Have had ZERO drive-thru breakfast stuff since I started this.

    - Lunch: Drive-Thru again, typically Wendy's as it always seems to be close to the places I work. Double stack and value fry was very consistent. Since starting this, 2 McChicken's is all as stated earlier. 1 when waiting for Kyle (kmok) to meet me so we could go searching for spots. 2nd on the way home from her dad's house in Dayton.

    - Dinner: Whatever Rachel made for dinner that night. I'll still have a burger on nights that are a little crazy, it's quick, but I've not eaten a handful of fried cheesesticks along with it. Gone to corn, or baked fries, or a baked potato. Something more along those lines.

    - After dinner: Was def. eating after dinner. And real junk at this point. I wouldn't gorge or anything, but a couple ho-ho's, or Dorito's or ice cream. Really cut back here as well. If I do eat something after dinner, it's Corn/Rice chex cereal.

I mean, can't not listen to a guy who takes care of themself. I don't know if I want to "get buff" that much. I might have to a little, lose the fat then be a twig and put it back on with muscle.

Clean bulk then cut. U should never be above 10% in bulk mode. Many use it as excuse to eat crap...then they look like crap.

Thats nasty on the coke thing. I never drank the "regular" pop anyways. Diet stuff was all that was around the house, so thats what I am/was used to.

Doing ok with it all so far. Rachael and I are now having a little jump rope thing in the evenings out on the back porch. Put on the Ipod, we take turns going back and forth.

I think I'm losing weight, there were some issues last week so things were a bit screwed up, but I just had to check recently and I was @ 182. Was 186.5 about 2 weeks ago.

Eyes are opening to the whole calorie thing a bit. Like "holy crap, that has that many calories, Yikes"
