Moog Coilovers?

Anyone used Moog's coilovers?

Their other stuff seems to be recommended often here and these seem affordable.

I would say yes, but moog quality has gone way down recently. Their front end parts used to be the best, now they seem to be the same Chinese shit you find on ebay.

 

What makes you say that?? I use moog on a daily basis and have not found any problems with there product... On top of there lifetime warrenty? Just curious not trying to come across as an ass hat

 

I did look at these to replace both front struts. However, since I also need/want to replace the leafs, I went with a full OME kit.

Still, for about $250 for the set, it may be worth the money.

 

The issue with MOOG is they have two lines. There is the quality Japanese line and there is a cheaper line (not sure where its made, etc...). I bought some MOOG lower ball joints from an auto store and they were crap. I returned them and got some off Amazon.com and they were pretty nice .

Im assuming this is stock replacement only, no lift, right?

 

I had the same ball joint issue, and similar with their sway bar end-links. I don't know if they have cheaper versions but my local parts dealer only had one moog part number to select. The ones I ran on a Ram 2500 about 5 years ago we're great, no issues.

I meant the old ones on the dodge were great. The newer on my Tacoma, not so good.

 

Not looking for a lift, just an affordable way to update the suspension. The existing coils may be ok (1999 tacoma) but I know the shocks are shot. I had heard the original coils are pretty durable.

 

agreed. Like everything else, cheap labor/ components have taken over.
