I haven't had any issues with the sunroof in any of my Tacomas. They do take up headroom though. Most of the time I don't notice, but if I'm wearing a hat, every now and then I'll feel it brush up against the headliner. Honestly, I don't care anything about having the sunroof, but to get the other options I wanted I didn't have a choice.

They do have reduced headroom with them. That is why I purposely chose a 2018 Pro over 2019. I'm 6'3" with a longer torso and needed the extra headroom. Plus since I have a manual there are more limited options when it comes to reclining the seat back.

For me I think I like the idea of a sunroof more than I would actually use it. Had one on a previous vehicle pop because of the fluctuation in temp too.

I'm short at 5'8" so no headroom issues. As far as using it, I love it. I don't use it when it is too warm out or if I will end up in direct sunlight, but in mornings and evening or on cool days, it is usually open.

Tacoma even gives you an alert when you open the door with the engine off and sunroof open so remember to close it. If ONLY they did that with the rear window. I have left that open a few times.

    Ford stands for:

Fucken US domestic auto manufacturers decided to inflict planned obsolescence and low quality manufacturing on their consumers to increase revenue and staged a massive "Buy American" propaganda campaign to guilt US consumers from buying higher quality, lower priced imports ever since the 70's.

I don't have a sunroof as I don't care for the tiny size that Tacos have. I've had two subies with the bigger glass and I did like that.

Two years, no leaks (nor in any other Toyota moon roof over the last 20 years). However, a few leaks from water bottles, so far no dog leaks in the truck. The combination of open moon roof and back window makes for good air flow that is less noisy when driving than the open side windows. And with all windows open: side, back, and top, it feels almost like you could imagine maybe the good old soft top FJ40s.

Agree on the flow with Moonroof and rear window open and keeping all the other windows shut. I have a topper for the back on order and I feel like I am going to miss that combo when the topper is added. I know I can still open the rear wwindow even with the topper, but I feel like it could be noisy or not as "flowy" with the topper adding restriction to the airflow out the back. Still oooking forward to the topper though.

I'm 6'3" in a '20 Off Road with tech package that includes a sunroof. I have lots of headroom because this is the first year with power seats. I declined a ridiculous deal on a '19 and waited just to get the seats! Hasn't leaked yet, don't expect it to either. It's a Toyota after all.
BTW: I don't open it that often, but it's the added light that I enjoy.

I have 2016 Sport with a moonroof. I've had mine for 2.5 years, and so far no issue. As far as headroom goes, God only blessed me to be 5'5" so that's not an issue for me. But saying that, I've had a 6'4" passenger and it was like this for him:

(Scoot ahead to around the 1:10 mark )

When I was a freshman in college, I Had a 1993 Mercury Cougar with a moonroof. Loved it! Sadly, the car blew a head gasket and problems just snowballed from there (including moonroof started leaking). Quickly found itself on for sale.

I can see the 2020 drivers seats getting a pretty penny from Pick and Pulls.

I bought mine with no sunroof due to wanting a panoramic sunroof installed into it one day.

I bought one with a sunroof because I wanted everything else. I use it maybe three days a year. I doubt it ever leaks or I use it more.
