moonroof

Had the same problem yesterday with my 2016 Tacoma. Driving on the highway, no cars just me and my family driving and all of a sudden heard a loud thump, so we pulled over and went around the vehicle looking for any damages, we found nothing. I happened to look up and saw something unusual on the top so I step up and saw that the moon roof was shattered. I hope Toyota can look into this and get this fixed!!!!!

Weird! could it have been air pressure or something ?

 

This has happened to a few people here. I think one guy got Toyota to replace it for him under warranty since it appeared to be a defect from when they put it in at the factory, another guy had to replace himself. Sucks to hear none the less.

 

I've seen other articles on this that discussed it happening with several different makes. No reason was given for it. Every time I flex mine on a trail i worry this may happen. That and the 1000 degree heat wave we've been having.
