IMHO you made the right call. You could have sold it to her and her boy could be very experienced but it is something you don't know.

With a comment like that I can only say "You can't fix stupid". If her mentality is in making her kids happy and not for their safety then so be it, at least you know your quad wont be the one he seriously injures himself or dies on.

    Zac,
Good call telling her to go elsewhere. She obviously is not interested in hearing from anyone what she should get for her son. I would imagine that he is telling her what he "needs" to be cool with his friends.

Unfortunately in todays world, if you had sold it to him, as soon as he wrecks the thing she is pointing the finger at you. Your name would be on the lawsuit with the manufacturer and anyone else that she could try to get some cash out of. She would have no case, but you would still have to pay for a lawyer to defend yourself which could be well into the thousands of $. I sold a 95 mustang 5.0 convertible to a kid who I knew was a total idiot, and sure enough he totaled the car within a couple of months. He was OK, but it was a hot car and it could have been much worse. He called me after the wreck with the whole, "Why didn't you tell me that the back end gets loose if you power through a corner?" thing. I smelled a lawsuit but it never came.

As far as I am concerned, you did the right thing.

    In my sig
Exactly. Especially since I knew it was for an 11 year old. My buddy told me to have her sign a waiver of liability. But I did't even want to deal with it.
