Ok so I think I have my taco exactly where I want it as far as performance. OV tune, intake flow accelerator with AFE drop in filter on the stock air box. Everything else is stock accept for accessories. I originally put the mbrp 3” cat on before the tune and now it sits in a box. Barely used it a month. Made the truck sluggish and hurt the already poor low end. My question is, other than Borla or trd is there anything I can do to get a more aggressive sound but maintain my current performance. And since it’s still under full warranty Cutting out and changing just the exhaust is not an option. I don’t want to spend $700 just for sound which is all I really want since the truck is now running perfect. All and any advice would be great. Oh and since I have a 19 trdoffrd double cab long bed there isn’t even many options for cat backs

Not at all. Florida. I bought the cheaper side exit one but I haven’t tried it since my tune. I can’t believe how fast the exhaust clamps rusted. I loved the sound. Are you running yours on OV tune

Seems Borla is just better quality and trd is fine but way to much because of the name

I have urd y pipe, twin resonators and a borla pro xs. I'm not that big of a fan of it tbh. I'll probably be getting a different muffler soon.

It's mostly just the sound. I think I'll try a spintech muffler. Maybe a louder resonator.

It reminds me too much of a civic haha. It's deeper and not rattle-trapy / tinny though.

So for $700 it’s just a minor increase in exhaust note?

I didn't even realize that's how expensive the y pipe was. If you ONLY get the y pipe. It will sound absolutely horrendous. Tinny, rattle-trap, just terrible. If u go y pipe, u have to go all the way imo. I think it'd just be easier to go pro exhaust instead of opening a can of worms.

Sorry to hear that sound didn't turn out to your liking. I personally ditched the urd cause it made things a little too boomy and raspy at 3k-4k rpm.

It's nbd, tinkering is fun! Plus I need to break the rust off my tig skills. Yeah idk about that y pipe. I wanna change one variable, but idk which way I should go haha.

Ohhhh, for the cat back? I'm not sure, I don't have that kit so I can't comment on the sound.

Yeah I'm running kruiser 4.0 lt . I can agree with some of the guys definitely the tune makes the truck have more tone and grumble
