I'm 6"1' about 195, and long in the femur. I find the stock seats terribly uncomfortable after about an hour of driving, making long road trips less exciting. I've looked into replacement seats like Scheel-mann, amazing quality but they're spendy. I've gone to an upholstery shop and discussed modifying the current seats but I'm not sure if that will do enough to fix it.
I'm looking for better lumbar support, more support in the seat cushion and more thigh support.
So far Scheel-mann looks like the best option for all the above, but I'm hoping someone has had success with less expensive options.

Your not alone...the seats and lack of adjustment are the worst of any vehicle I ever owned... and I have had plenty.

Same here, it's ridiculous. I'm optimistic about an uphostery place I went to yesterday, but I'm annoyed that it's necessary.

For me the biggest issue with the seats are the lack of bucketing. My butt keeps sliding forward and I have to slide myself back.

I love my truck, but the seats are the worst in any vehicle I've ever owned.

Agree with you on the worst. Interesting on the issue, it's the opposite for me. Here's a pic of the upholstery shop's recommendation after looking at me in the seat. He said the angle is pretty extreme and puts pressure on your hips and back, so adding foam where you see the foam placed. And shaving it down at the front of the seat cushion. I drove around for a while last night, and sat in my truck while parked, it was a lot better. It's going to cost 400 for the driver's seat modifications, I think it's worth a shot.

It seems that the driver's seat has a degree of "Cinderella effect". I am one of the fortunate ones: my 2017 fits me just right.

I have owned it 8 months and have about 14,000 miles on it. At least weekly, I am in it for a 4 hour round trip on the interstate (with a 3 hour break in the middle). Also, I have driven it on 3 multistate trips, each of which was in excess of 7 hours driving each way. I find the seating position to be very comfortable.

I don't mean to minimize the predicament of those who find the seat uncomfortable, which is compounded by its limited adjustment capabilities.

You're lucky, and I'm happy for you. Just goes to show, different people, different body types. At least if it had more adjustability it would help. The guy who's going to work on it said it's the most basic seat he's seen in a while, he was really surprised given how new it is lol.

Just a thought: perhaps picking up a nice set of Clazzio leather seat covers and stretching them over the foam pieces you’ve placed on the seat. Maybe contact Clazzio.com and see what they think. ?

The foam pieces you see are not cut to be long term, just for testing to see if we're on the right track in terms of modification. Not a bad idea though.

I will add that the Clazzio leather seat covers made my seats firmer and I don't sink as much into the seat. I actually noticed I sit higher than I did before. I would not say they made the seat more comfortable. I think having an upholstery shop add foam where it fits you better is the right track. Someone else did that and it made all the difference for them.

Curious to see the results. As much as I like the Clazzio's, I've toyed with the idea of taking them off because I also get lower back pain from long drives. I don't think the seats have enough lower back support.

FWIW I raised up the back of each front seat with 3/4" spacers, plus changed out the stock covers for leather; better, but still not the best. For custom seats I think having lots of adjustability would be best. I'm 6', 190.

Interesting. Did changing the angle of the bottom seat cushion make that much of a difference?

I bought a 1/4" sheet of memory foam on Amazon and put it under my Carhartt seat covers. Feels so much better.

The foam pieces you've got seem pretty thick. I don't know about you, but I'm 5'11" and my hair is already scraping the headliner (I do have a sunroof, though). I'd hate to add too much more height to the seat.

No huge difference. The factory seats are comfortable for me for day to day use, but I do get back pain during hours long drives. Honestly I'm not sure if it's the seats, I have some back issues.

I would also like it better if it were that way too, always find myself having to slide back too.

Yeah it drives me nuts. Like very few minutes, I have to scoot myself back into the seat. It's horrible. lol
