I've heard the F-150 was lighter, my Taco weighs 4300 lbs.

I was considering an F150, their equivalent to the access cab weighs close to what my Sienna was, about 4700lbs.

Ah, not sure then what Ford version was lighter or where I saw that. Thank you for setting me straight. I know per Ford specs, the cab would have been a little too high to go under my garage door, would have had to figure out what opener would pull the door a little higher. The 2015 Ford I did test drive had a bunch of spunk, mpg was not close to the Taco though.

I had a 2016 F150 supercab 4x4 with the 2.7. That 2.7 has a lot of power. That truck flat moved. Great power and I got 19.5 to 20 mpg.

Translate. i want more Hp with paying for it
We all would! HP is like one of the most expensive upgrades if your looking for noticable difference.
BUT You can get 10HP MAX at WOT with a performance intake and upgraded exhaust. Increase your piping 1/4” no more and get a magnaflow 14” muffler. Combined 10hp is about it. Can you feel it. It’s like driving with a full tank vs empty tank. There’s a difference but not speed of light. That upgrade combo cost me $700 for both. More sound than performance but I’m a realist. I did a review here on the TRD intake.
Headers might help IF you don’t live in Cali and you did those other 2 upgrades before. Other than a supercharger anything else is snake oil. Sorry these are mid size trucks not race cars

PS don’t lift your truck and buy Mpg Friendly tires if you want to not drag ass. Lifting and putting 33” ….. any increases I got with my upgrades I just broke even

I had the Kdmaxx tune added to my '21 OR Manual a couple of months ago and it's one of my favorite mods. I should caution you that it doesn't feel faster, per se; in fact the dynos from the tuner company show a 10whp difference at peak. However, the throttle response, linearity, and smoothness of the truck now are how it *should* have felt from the factory. I remember driving it home with 7 miles on the odometer this past May and within a mile from pulling out of the dealership I wondered if there was something wrong with it as the throttle response and lack of smoothness was really that bad. For the automatics, I believe this tune is even more necessary as it supposedly solves most of the gear hunting.

If you're really really just wanting more hp/tq, do a Magnuson supercharger or trade it in for something more powerful from the factory. End of story.

Agreed. It's a mid-size truck. Accept that you bought a truck, not a Supra. We saw this over on the G8 forum when the rental fleet G8's started becoming available. Kids still living in their parent's basement could finally afford one, and they immediately set to modding them. They couldn't afford a car note AND real performance mods like cam/intake/headers/tune/forced induction, but God Bless'em, they had a real muscle car and they were heading in the right direction. They'd been through their fart can import modding stage, and they wanted to grow up and own something with real muscle. And they did. Learn something from them: Instead of pissing away a couple thou to get 20-25hp out of a Taco, save up and pay that sumbitch off instead. Keep it as your DD, and THEN buy you a 5.0 or an SS, something with a big V8 that awards true return on HP investment. The older you will hold the younger you in less contempt.

If you want big power in a midsize, you should consider a Ranger. With the Ford Performance upgrade you'll have 315hp and 370ft-lbs on tap with a 10spd automatic to sort it all out.

Another option is an 05-19 Frontier, the VK56DE V8 is a basic swap using factory parts (it was an optional engine in the Pathfinder, so the correct parts exist). It can be mated to the 6spd manual as well.

Wait till the 4 th Generation it might have more HP. I mean I had a 2008 TRD Sport with 236 HP and now my 2021 has 278 HP so this means next Gen will around the 300 + HP. Just sayin.
