I am a bit tall for my 2004 tacoma extended cab. Thinking about trying extensions from Extend My Seat. Their site says you can get 4-6 inches of extra leg room. Do not want a larger truck yet maybe some day a tundra to stretch out in. Cost will be about $250.

Any experience with this product or another solution?

    Thanks

I looked and did not see the Tacoma on the list of Toyota products. Link?

It isn't. But it says "email if your vehicle isn't listed" or whatever. They have several Toyota's listed, so I don't imagine it would be an impossibility to do a Tacoma either.

Try it! They seem to be reputable and have been around a few years, I wouldn't think it's a waste of effort or money if they can make it happen.

I think that's a lot of money for some brackets but I don't see another option if you're cramped. James of course your big ass is in here.

    $250 buys OEM quality.

I can make brackets for a fraction of that but they will likely be not something I'd want to put faith and life saving trust into.

Life saving?? Your seats are bolted to the floor. Bolts are bolts lol overbuild them if that's the case and use grade 8.

Not that I know how to build seat brackets.

With seat belt positions and airbags and etc,. I'd imagine there is at least some level of math/engineering involved to make sure extending a customer's seat rail 4" doesn't yield decapitations in accidents under 10 MPH and whatnot or otherwise create enormous liability in an accident. Etc,. etc,. etc,.

I'm sure there's more to a wheelchair accessible van with hand controls for the driver than a ramp, removing the driver seat, and screwing poles to the gas and brake pedals - even though that's what I could do.

I emailed last week and have not heard anything back yet. Will give them a little time. I do work with some metal fabricators that I think could do a professional job. I will update when I hear anything . Until then I will keep steering with my knees. The company is missing out I think alot of folks with tacoma's would take advantage if available. Even though I am 6'3" I do not plan on upsizing to a Tundra until I am much older.
