Holy shit you weren't kidding. The YARIS!? They also say the best in their class are the Cruze and Impala

The market kinda already decided this: Civic > Corolla > Elantra > Cruze

And CR would take a freaking Kia over the Camry and Accord??

I think they just got so tired of giving award after award after award to Honda and Toyota that now they're just trying to look "impartial".... but end up looking like fools by saying the Yaris/Cruze/Optima are class leaders.

Then again I'm not really a Consumer Reports kinda guy... the two vehicles in my driveway are considered the WORST buys by CR: Tacoma and Wrangler.

Balls. CR sucks balls. According to them, half the shit I own should either not work or should have killed me and my family. They use to have a lot of clout, not so much anymore IMO.

Think again ;) Basically the Taco would have to be a Ridgeline clone to get high marks from CR. Thankfully the Ridgeline is a sales failure, so Toyota would never do it.

More useless pandering with no facts or data to back up the BULL being spewed.

I am one of the two 2017 Tacoma owners who subscribe to CR. What does that say to anyone? Does it mean I agree with their conclusions? Does it mean I was part of the sample? I have many times disagreed with the results or conclusions of their reviews. But I still listen and read between the lines to take what I need from their comments. I guess that is the difference with my generation. We know how to read and decipher information from what’s given instead of simply reading the headlines and running to my forum buddies to spew all sorts of crap out of context.

I have read their reviews about all sorts of vehicles and realize they want the luxury control and handling of high end luxury vehicles no matter the intended purpose or user of the vehicle. I bet if they reviewed transport trucks they would say slow acceleration, poor cornering and lack of interior comforts. Once you step back and realize the bias of the writers it all becomes very useful. Case in point is their review of the Jeep JK a few years back. They tore it apart for poor comfort and handling. Which sounds horrible until you look at what it is and what is is being compared to. It is not intended to be a Mercedes nor is it trying to be as good on road as one. So read the article knowing the bias and then take the useful information from the article.

If you look for the negative you will find it. If you look for the positive you will find that as well.

Here is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth:

Consumer Reports isn’t a “thing”, it’s a group of people, likely with a “team lead” or manager for their compact truck reviews. These people, or person, has an ego like anyone else, and is likely proud of themselves and their work.

For many years they have been telling us to buy Honda Ridgelines, voting them “best this and best that”. It’s gotta annoy the shit outta these people, and seriously wound their egos, that people keep buying Tacomas by the hundreds of thousands. In the C.R. boardroom they scream something like “don’t these assholes understand???.....the Honda has better test results!!!.....the Honda is well liked by our conservative no-fun staff members!!! ...the people must buy Hondas!!!!”. But year after year we keep buying Tacomas as the internal rage of the C.R. staff grows to the point they are blinded by their own anger, and can’t even see what is great about the Tacoma, and why it is so popular.

Gents and ladies, we should pity the Consumer Reports people. They are in a very dark place. They have circled their Ridgelines, and are refusing to join the party. :(

    Brand new so nothing yet.
I am lost. This is all just crazy talk. Best vehicle I’ve driven, and I’ve driven a shit load of different vehicles. By far the best ride out of any of the new trucks I have been in or driven. Maybe just bias but I have zero complaints.
