so i ran outside and ran through the flashers and blinkers and stood infront of my truck... i guess i never did that before... i thought the "marker lights" did more than nothing... :frusty:

this whole conversation makes more sense now

yeah what you wanted to do sounds like what i want to do... what does "a ton of work" entail

can you get a different socket or do you have to change all the wiring

to make the marker light into a blinker is fairly simple.
or if you hate the ttora assholes and dont want to go there (JUST KIDDING i'm a ttora asshole sometimes too. but really whats with the hardass f*ck you attitude they have?)
both work just fine, the difference being that the ttora one you use the existing socket, the bajabumpers one you use a new socket and silicone it in.

For the fogs in the blinker location I THINK some people have made the hella 550's fit with minimal work.

actually i just looked at the bajabumpers one again and even though you have to sillicone it into place each time you change a bulb, it looks like the best set-up i've found. I'm doing that one when I get the new corners from dud122!

i was looking at the baja bumper instructions and it doesn't tell you what kind of socket the "new socket" is... i also don't get how by putting this new socket in and connecting it to the wires that were previously going to markers... how they are supposed to start working as blinkers

Here you go. I don't have the truck any more, but I did all the work and most of it was relatively cheap.

    thanks man...

so basically you get the new socket and bulb and install it into your corner light... then you take the wires from your turnng signals and the wires from your original marker lights and hook them both up to this new socket.... then BAM markers that stay on all the time but start flashing when you put the turn signal on.

    right?

if you can't tell i'm not the most experienced electrician but i would like to lear about this so i can do it myself

I'm guessing that the corners are able to blink now, due to the fact that the bulbs that are getting put in are dual filament (think of the turnsignals as your headlights. theres the "low beam" that is on all the time, and then whenever the blinker is used, it's like activating your "high beams".)

I'm sure Janster could answer any questions about it that you have better than I can.

i'm going to work on a better way to secure the socket, cutting out the old silicone and stripping it all away is pretty time consuming and just not the best way im sure.
I'll let you know when i come up with something

I'd love to change my backlights for the gauges but don't trust myself enough to take everything apart....
